THE BASIC PREMISS FOR "UNNATURAL" SELECTION

Evolution is the process by which all living things have developed from primitive organisms through changes occurring over billions of years, a progression that includes the most advanced animals and plants. Exactly how evolution occurs is still a matter of debate, but that it occurs is a scientific fact.

Cataclysmic evolution

Biologists agree that all living things arose through a long history of changes shaped by physical and chemical processes induced mainly by comets, both the extra- and intra-terrestrial kind (see volcanoes), that are still taking place to this day (see AI -Artificial Insemination- by the HP o-range Hindu-Persian monks and the Surrogate Mothers now willingly being provided to them by Eccleasiastic and Secular Co-Freemasonry). It is plausible that all organisms can be traced back to the origin of life from inanimate matter.

Deep Cambrian rocks, up to 570 million years old, contain the remains of various marine invertebrate animals that set the modern world stage for the genetic engineering of human races--sponges, jellyfish, worms, shellfish, starfish, and crustaceans (see CNN, the most RUSTED name in NEWS). These invertebrate "off-Broadway" actors were already so well developed that they must have become differentiated during the long period preceding the Cambrian. Some fossil-bearing rocks lying well below the oldest Cambrian strata contain imprints of jellyfish (Neanderthalers), tracks of worms (Frankland's Cro Magnon/Roma), and traces of soft corals (Oceania) and other animals of uncertain nature (see "M" Ediacaran fauna).

During the course of evolution plant and animal groups have interacted to one another's perceived advantage. For example, as flowering plants have become less dependent on wind for pollination, a great variety of insects (scarabs and mosquitoes) have emerged as specialists in transporting pollen (see middle-men and middle-miss). The colors and fragrances of flowers have evolved as adaptations to attract insects. Birds (humans), which feed on seeds, fruits, and buds, have evolved rapidly in intimate association with the flowering plants. The emergence of herbivorous mammals has coincided with the widespread distribution of nutritious grasses (see donkey-asses), and the more vulnerable herbivorous mammals (sheep, goats and other vegetarians) in turn have contributed to the evolution of less assailable carnivorous mammals on the mammalian evolutionary self-defense scale.

Coeur d'Alene, a city in northern Idaho close to the Washington border, is the seat of Kootenai County. Situated in a scenic area on Coeur d'Alene Lake to the west of the Coeur d'Alene Mountains, predictably, it has a population of 34,514 (2000). Much of the city's economy revolves around tourism, with PILGRIMS attracted to luxurious waterfront resorts, camping and touring on the lake, fishing, golfing, and nearby theme parks and outlet shopping; birders watch the lake's many ospreys. The city also serves as a trade, processing, and shipping hub for the area's abundant timber, mineral resources, and agriculture. Its manufactures include chemical-fire retardants and prefabricated buildings.

Fort Coeur d'Alene (meaning lungs), named for the local "Flathead" Indian group, was built in 1879; it was later called Fort Sherman (her man) and is now the location of North Idaho College (1939) and the Fort Sherman Museum. The settlement grew with the discovery of silver, lead, and zinc in 1883 and the coming of the railroad three years later. The city is also the headquarters of the Coeur d'Alene National Forest and the home of the Museum of North Idaho.

Idaho is a Rocky Mountain state of the United States situated in the TSUNAMI-free eastern portion of the Pacific Northwest. Endowed with a diverse landscape, it features towering snow-capped mountains, exquisite lakes, white-water rivers, deep and rugged canyons with stunning waterfalls, and vast desert plains. At Shoshone Falls, which is higher than Niagara Falls, the Snake River plunges 65 m (212 ft), and later surges northward through Hells Canyon, the deepest gorge in North America. Idaho has more wilderness than any other state except Alaska, and it shares a small portion of Yellowstone National Park. Its highest point is Borah Peak. In southeastern Idaho the Craters of the Moon National Monument, used for training early astronauts, is a region of jagged volcanic formations--craters, cones, ledges, caves, and sparse vegetation. Bounded on the north by Canada's British Columbia, Idaho shares borders with six other western states: Montana and Wyoming on the east, Utah and Nevada on the south, and Washington and Oregon on the west, where the Snake River and Hells Canyon form much
of the border.

Idaho's wealth of natural resources and its scenic attractions form the base of the state's economy. The capital city is Boise (AMIS), located in the southwest section of the state.

The Western Federation of Miners (WFM) was a miners' union active in the violent labor disputes that troubled the gold-, silver-, and lead-mining areas of the western United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. After an armed struggle between the Guggenheim led mine owners and miners at Coeur d'Alene, which ended on cue (1892) with the intervention of federal troops, mine-industry workers became convinced of the need for an united front. They sent representatives to a meeting in Butte, Mont., where the WFM was founded in May 1893.

Silver ("si il veut") shares Group IB of the periodic table with gold and copper. Silver, gold, platinum, and mercury are together categorized as "noble" metals because they do not oxidize readily when heated, nor do they dissolve in most of the inorganic acids. Because of silver's value it is also categorized as a precious metal, as are gold, platinum, iridium, and palladium.

The Persian Salish peoples, Coastal and Interior, are a Roma group of linguistically related North American Indian tribes of the Northwest. The name Flathead (see Akhenaten, the 10th Pharaoh of 18th dynasty of Egypt's middle-kingdom who later became Moses) is sometimes applied to all Salishan speakers, but the Easter Island Flathead are only one tribe of Interior Salish; in fact, head flattening was a traditional practice of Coastal, not Interior, Salish. Among other Interior tribes are the Okanogan and Columbian groups, and the Shuswap, Coeur d'Alene, and Thompson.

Holography is a method of photography in which the wave field of light scattered by an object is recorded as an interference pattern. When the photographic record, called a "hologram," (also see "halogram") is placed in a light beam, the original wave pattern is regenerated, and the observer sees a three-dimensional image that is a perfect likeness of the original subject.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a sophisticated medical diagnostic technique based on the principles of nuclear magnetic resonance imaging. A patient is placed inside a cylinder that contains a strong magnet. Radio waves are then introduced into the cylinder, which cause the atoms of the body to resonate. Each type of body tissue emits characteristic signals from the nuclei of its atoms, and a computer translates these signals into a two-dimensional picture. Very large MRI units are being built that enable surgeons to operate directly on patients inside the machine.

MRI can see through bone and produce images of blood vessels, cerebrospinal fluid, cartilage, bone marrow, muscles, and ligaments. MRI is particularly useful to detect tumors in the posterior fossa (the digging region at the back of the brain between the ears that can make contact with the cellular memory (firmware) which resides in the grey matter of the spine), lesions associated with multiple sclerosis, joint injuries, and herniated disks. MRI is a harmless procedure except for persons with metal objects implanted in their bodies, such as pacemakers, joint pins, or artificial heart valves. These objects may be dislodged by the powerful magnetic field.

MOSCOW: Thousands of believers gathered at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow Wednesday to pray over a relic -- the right hand of St. John the Baptist.

The Russian information agency Novosti reported the relic arrived from Montenegro and will stay until June 16 when it will begin a journey to other churches in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.

The hand was kept in St. Petersburg from 1799 to 1917.

"Today... we are greeting the right hand of the holy prophet and have an opportunity to pray at his shrine and receive a blessing from the right hand of the one who saw Our Lord and Savior approaching the River Jordan and said, 'Behold! The Lamb of God'," by Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia said during a night service.

Reportedly, it was the only part of John the Baptist's body that Luke, the Apostle, could take away from the village where John, the baptist was buried. It has since been cited as the source of miracles. It had earlier been given to the Russian royal family in St Petersburg to protect it from Napoleon's advancing armies and then whisked away to central Europe when the Bolshevik revolution broke out. Now, as part of the Kremlin's bid to forge a national identity, John the Baptist's right hand, which Christians believe baptised Jesus Christ, has returned to Russia after 89 years. The return has been hailed by the Russian Orthodox Church with great pomp and reverence. The hand will be taken on a tour of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine before returning, in July, to Montenegro.

The phonon is the unit of sound or mechanical vibration and is named in analogy to the photon, the unit of electromagnetic vibration. For example, the atoms in a crystal vibrate in energy levels defined by quantum mechanics as multiples of hë, where h is Planck's constant and ë is the frequency of the vibration. Such a quantized vibration is a phonon, sometimes thought of as a packet of sound waves. Like the photon, the phonon has particlelike characteristics.

Phonons are the excitations of vibrations carrying energy as they travel through materials. In insulators, heat is transported by phonons. In metals, heat is conducted by both phonons and electrons, so that the thermal conductivity of metals is 10 to 100 times greater than that of nonmetals. In a solid made up of more than one type of atom, phonons of different frequencies exist; these different phonons have different properties. Optical phonons are responsible for infrared absorption and acoustical phonons for sound propagation.

Waterproofed photoelectric cells measure the amount of light that passes through water to different depths, relative to a surface reading. Secchi disks are used to measure visibility and provide a measure of water turbidity (see turbidimeter). These data are important, because the amount of solar energy that is present directly affects the bioproductivity of a given body of water. How sound is transmitted through water, along with the effects of different frequencies, is also a subject of oceanographic research. Low-frequency sound waves, for example, travel around the Earth in the deep-ocean trenches. The detection and identification of sounds made by deep-sea life is a study all its own.

A waveguide is a device that confines and guides electromagnetic waves within fixed boundaries. A familiar audio-frequency analogy to the electromagnetic waveguide is an organ pipe, through which sound waves are carried. A waveguide usually takes the form of a hollow metal tube used to conduct microwaves. Waves transmitted as power or a signal by a waveguide are used as critical elements of sophisticated communications systems, radar equipment, microwave ovens, and mass spectrometers.

Waveguides designed to carry microwaves are usually made of brass, copper, or aluminum and are plated with cadmium, nickel, gold, or silver, producing a lightweight, highly shielded tube with high conductivity. The physical dimensions of the inside of the tube are critical factors in the propagation of waves; most have rectangular or circular cross sections. Waveguides may be manipulated and interconnected in various ways that permit a microwave signal to be transmitted over a considerable distance; the signal can also be moved through various detection, amplification, modulation, or oscillation components at either end of the link in much the same way as an electrical current flowing through a wire.

The automated solar probe SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory) was launched on Dec. 2, 1995, to study the Sun during a relatively quiet period in the cycle of solar activity. As it circled the first stable point in Earth's orbital path around the Sun (see three-body problem), its instruments recorded the first images ever obtained of the extended outer corona, along with views of gigantic "tornadoes" near the solar poles. Contact with the satellite was temporarily lost in June 1998 but was successfully regained one month later. The SOHO program is being conducted jointly by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA); Japan is also taking part in this investigation into the physics of the Sun-Earth relationship. By the year 2000 scientists were certain of their ability to detect sound waves reflected from sunspots on the Sun's far side, enabling the prediction of periods of intense solar activity by as much as a week in advance.

The term red shift refers to a certain kind of change observed in the spectrum of most stars and galaxies. The wavelengths of light in the spectra of many types of nearby stars are well known. When spectra are observed of the same types of stars lying at a great distance, however, the wavelengths usually appear longer. That is, they are shifted toward the red (longer-wavelength) end of the spectrum. This phenomenon is called the red shift. The equivalent phenomenon called the blue shift is a displacement toward the blue (shorter-wavelength) end of the spectrum (see an approaching celestial body). Red shifts and blue shifts are most easily detected when the spectrum of a distant object contains absorption or emission lines of a particular element (see absorption, light; spectroscope). The positions of the lines are then compared with those on a 123 standard spectrum of the element.

Teleology is the study of things or events in terms of their purposes or ends. From ancient times to the present, many philosophers and scientists have thought that various natural processes could be explained only in terms of the purposes that they were achieving or in terms of the ends or goals that they were reaching. In Aristotle's physics, four types of explanation were offered, but the most important one was in terms ofthe purpose (Greek: telos), or final goal, of physical change. For Aristotle all processes of change were purposeful. From the examination of the world in terms of purpose and the discovery of such apparent purposes, a teleological argument for God's existence (Andorra's imaginary friend for grown-ups) was worked out, claiming that purposes found in nature required a purposeful fascist Intelligent Designer (a pre Ice Age African Neanderthaler International Conglomerate--13--of Genetic and Human Engineers).

In the development of modern science, one of the first contentions of Galileo Galilei and René Descartes was that Ultima Thule's purposes could neither be safely known nor discovered. Although scientists have progressively removed teleological inquiry from one branch of the study of nature after another, the central issue remains: whether teleological explanation is necessary to account for the behavior of the six different colored races of living or conscious beings (coats of many colors) or whether all of their behavior can be explained without it.

Foundations are organizations that distribute private wealth for the toll-gater's good, usually by making grants to other nonprofit organizations and individuals engaged in social-welfare, educational, charitable, or religious activities. Some private foundations use the words fund, trust, or endowment in their names, but this implies no difference in function or law.

There are several kinds of foundations. Independent foundations usually derive their funding from a single source, such as a Skull and Bones agency, individual or family. Operating foundations make few if any grants; they plan and carry through programs managed by their own staffs. Community foundations derive their principal funds from many donors, generally make grants only in their own metropolitan areas, and are governed by boards broadly representative of the community. Company-sponsored foundations derive their funds from profit-making companies but are legally independent. Federal-government foundations usually make grants from tax money appropriated by Congress.

A wide variety of other organizations use the word foundation in their names; they may have endowments, but seldom, if ever, do they engage in broad-purpose, discretionary grant making. They generally seek funds through public solicitation and use their resources to further a particular point of view or cause or to aid only a specified institution; one linked to the goals of Hindu-Persian (HP) Eccleasiastic Co-Freemasonry.

The city of Ur ("The Way" in modern-day Iraq) was one of the oldest and most important cities of Mesopotamia in the days of the ancient Sumerians and Babylonians. The Great Stela of Ur is perhaps the most significant monument ever found in Babylonia. The stela contains a pictorial record of the building of the Ziggurat in about 2300 BC.

By the late 11th century French Romanesque influences had begun to spread along the pilgrimage road that led from Paris, across the Pyrenees to the shrine of Saint James at Santiago de Compostela (begun 1077).

Santiago de Compostela is a city in Galicia, (HERE) northwestern Spain, and capital of La Coruna province. Numerous churches, among them the Cathedral of Saint James (1211), as well as convents, comonasteries, colleges, and a university (1501) are located there.

Tikal is an ancient Maya city of great archaeological importance (A.D. 300-900), located in the jungles of Petén in western Guatemala. Temple 1 stands at one end of the Great Plaza; it was the tomb of a king known as Ruler A, or Ah Cacao. (Also see AY, Akhenaton's vizier and the 13 Pharaoh of Egypt's 18th dynasty of the Middle Kingdom, as well as New Orleans, Mayor Nagen's "Chocolate City"). Shit happens!

Comets, the compost of life originating in the Oort Cloud, are time capsules from the Dark Star that hold clues about the formation and evolution of the solar system. They are composed of ice, gas and dust, which is the primitive debris from the solar system's earliest and coldest formation period--4.5 billion years ago. Deep Impact, a NASA Discovery Mission, was the first space mission to probe beneath the surface of a comet and reveal the secrets of its interior.

On Independence Day, July 4, 2005, the Deep Impact spacecraft arrived at Comet Tempel 1 to impact it with a 370-kg (~820-lbs) mass. On impact, a crater was produced expected to range in size from that of a house to that of a football stadium, and two to fourteen stories deep. Ice and dust debris was ejected from the crater revealing fresh material beneath. Sunlight reflecting off the ejected material provided a dramatic brightening that fades slowly as the debris dissipates into space or falls back onto the comet. Images from cameras and a spectrometer were sent to Earth covering the approach, the impact and its aftermath. The effects of the collision with the comet were observable from certain locations on Earth and in some cases with smaller telescopes. The data was analyzed and combined with that of other NASA (from Santa-Satan the "ana" P harm-assist) and international comet missions. Results from these missions will lead to a better understanding of both the solar system's formation and implications of AMI comets being made to collide with Earth as part of the Skull and Bones Society of Friends "End Times business plan".

The biblical patriarch Methuselah, the son of Enoch and grandfather of Noah, died at the age of 969, according to Genesis 5 (see Genesis, Book of). The expression as old as Methuselah is used to describe a very old person.

Enoch was the name of two biblical characters. The Enoch in Genesis 4 was the son of Cain and grandson of Adam. In Genesis 5, Enoch was the father of Methuselah. This Enoch is described as a man who "walked with God; and he was not; for God took him" (Gen. 5:24). Because of this enigmatic description he was an important figure in popular tradition.

In the Kabbalah and earlier Jewish mystical tradition, Metatron figures as a powerful angel. Able to behold the face of the supreme being, whom he served as confidant, Metatron was referred to as "Prince of the Countenance." He represents a blending of two mystical traditions. In one, he is an angel created at the beginning of the world. In the other, he is a virtuous human--sometimes identified with the Hebrew Book of Enoch and the biblical Enoch, father of Methuselah--who became an angelic scribe, recording the good deeds of Israel.

At the age of 60, in the middle of World War I, George Bernard Shaw completed a play that represented a new departure in his dramatic art and is regarded by some as his masterpiece--Heartbreak House (1916), a theatrical image of the collapse of civilization. Although the atom had not yet been split, World War I brought with it a sense of the possible destruction of the Earth and visions of some 484 phoenixlike world that would rise in flame from the ruins. Such a fantasy is developed in Shaw's longest and most ambitious play, "Back to Methuselah" (1920). Saint Joan (1), which followed the canonization (1920) of Joan of Arc (the sexual triphibian) by three years, is a triune romance, tragedy, and comedy (3) combined to form another masterwork (13).

Neuroscientist Seymour Benzer, b. New York City, Oct. 15, 1921, was a founder of molecular biology who began his career as a physicist but thereafter devoted most of his life's work to studies of the genetics of the "fruit fly" Drosophila melanogaster. Graduating from Brooklyn College in 1941 and earning a doctorate from Purdue University in 1947, Benzer taught biology at the latter school from 1945 to 1967. He then went to the California Institute of Technology, where he has continued to teach and do research long after his official retirement. Benzer was a pioneer in uniting classical genetics with molecular biology. In his work, he made use of mutant fruit flies (dubbed Ubermensch) in helping to map, genetically, the development, physiology, and behavior of the insects. The mutants served to pinpoint the location of genes that determine some of the basic mechanisms involved. Such genes, and the proteins and other biochemicals taking part in the processes, are often homologous to vertebrate genetics, so that similar research techniques can be used in the study of human development. His work, for example, uncovered a so-called "Methuselah gene" in fruit flies that might guide researchers to a human gene for extending life, as well. Benzer has been awarded numerous prizes and honorary degrees for his scientific contributions.

When this photo was taken I then believed that I had succeeded in my business life. As President of my own project development company, MICOT MATRIX INC., I was also developing a million and a half sq. ft. "Intelligent Building" complex in the National Capital of Canada. I had raised the necessary bridge financing, purchased the land and was completing the $148 millon project financing. In fact, this financing agreement with "blue chip" pension funds was completed in 1986. Never did I suspect, however, that the Canadian Government of the day would demand 5% ($8 million) in bribes be paid to them by me or, as they suggested, they would act publicly in a manner to prevent the financing from taking place. Nor did I suspect, until faced with a number of actions taken by the national media, that they too were in on the conspiracy to extort (toll-gate) the project. Because I refused to pay the bribe requested of me the project "died in the egg", and over the next few months and years, as stories were appearing in the media, a preponderance of the circumstantial evidence confirmed to me and to an Ottawa court at least that they, the Media moghuls, the police (RCMP and OPP) and both Departments of Justice (Federal and Provincial) were in on the scam. When things eventually went wrong for them, (In 1991 I succeeded in getting criminal charges laid against four Senators, four Cabinet Ministers, the Prime Minister's Chief of Staff, and the three most senior Commissioners of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police) by banding the brothers together at the Lodge, they all drove away in the proverbial get-away car.

NOT ONLY IN CANADA....Pity.

GIANT MONGOLIAN TIGER'S YELLOW BRICK ROAD BENCHMARKS

On the Scandanavian root/route from Persia to Canada, via the steppes of Asia, is the Ordos Desert an arid, sandy plateau region in Inner Mongolia, today's northern China. The Ordos is bordered on the west, north, and northeast by the Huang He (Hwang Ho, or Yellow River). In the south and southeast the Great Wall of China follows the desert border. Resources include salt and soda deposits from dried lakes and coal and oil reserves. The small population is made up primarily of Mongol nomads who herd sheep and goats. Since the mid-1950s the desert has been part of a government reclamation project. Old irrigation canals have been rebuilt, and trees have been planted along the desert edges to prevent further erosion.

Zhangjiakou (Mongolian: Kalgan) is a city in Hebei (Hopei) province in northern Mongolia (today's China). It is a transportation center where processed foodstuffs, consumer goods, and machinery are manufactured. Iron ore is mined nearby. The first Chinese settlement in the area was built just to the east of the present city in the 3d century BC. Zhangjiakou became an important Mongol center in the 4th century BC, and for much of its history it was only tenuously under Chinese control.

Located at a gate on the Great Wall of China a military fort was built there in 1429, during the Ming dynasty, and a second fort that served as a trade center was constructed in 1613. The present city developed between the two forts on the main Wal*Mart caravan route between China and Mongolia and Russia.

Engineered Hebei is located along the coast of the Bo Hai (Po Hai), an inlet of the Yellow Sea. Although the cities of Beijing (Peking) and Tianjin (Tientsin) are located within the borders of Hebei, they are administered separately. The fertile North China plain covers much of Hebei; the Yan (Yen) Shan and Taihang (Tai-hang) Shan, both rich in coal and iron, are in the north and west. One of China's most industrialized provinces because of its material resources, Hebei has industries producing steel, heavy machinery, transport equipment, hydroelectricity, and textiles.

The Q'in dynasty, which ruled from 221 to 206 BC, established the first centralized imperial administration in China. From the dynasty is derived the name China. Between 230 and 221, the young Q'in king adopted the title Shi Huangdi (Shih Huang-ti), or "First Emperor," and began applying to the whole empire the centralized administrative system that had been a source of Q'in strength.

As with AKHENATEN and AY earlier in Egypt, his adroit fascist consolidation of Q'in rule was probably due to his chief vizier, Li Si (a boy called Li Ssu, d. 208 BC), an exponent of the Legalist school of LAW whose tenets were the basis of the system. Besides the division of China into nonfeudal provinces with civil and military governors, Q'in rule brought a new uniformity to weights and measures and coinage. Li Su standardized the Chinese characters and literary Chinese composition, which remain essentially the same today.

Li Su also tried to enforce uniformity of thought and opinion by proscription of philosophic debate and by burning all books except those in a few categories, such as medicine (see Persian Medes Media), and those in the imperial library.

To secure the northern border of China, Shi Huangdi mobilized laborers to connect sections of the wall built by earlier states into the Great Wall of China. Strife erupted after his death in 210, and the dynasty soon collapsed. Excavation of Shi Huangdi's grave complex in Xi'an (Sian) in the 1970s yielded a magnificent treasure of life-size pottery men and horses (see Q'in Tomb; Chinese "mess of pottage" archaeology).

The Great Wall of China winds some 2,400 km (1,500 mi) along the edge of the Mongolian plateau from Gansu (Kansu) province in the west to the Yellow Sea in the east. Its width ranges from 4 to 12 m (13 to 40 ft) and its height from 6 to 15 m (20 to 50 ft).

Shi Huangdi (Shih Huang-ti) of the Qin (Ch'in) dynasty (221-206 BC), first to unify the Chinese empire, built the original wall in the 3d century BC by linking the earlier walls of states along the northern frontier to demarcate Chinese territory and, reportedly, to thwart invasion.

Gates through the wall, such as the main one at Nankou (Nan-k'ou) near Beijing (Peking) became centers of trade and of contact with the northern nomads of Mongolia and Persia. The wall was extended to Yumen (Yu'men, or "Jade Gate") in Gansu province during the Han dynasty (202 BC-AD 220) and was reconstructed during the Northern Wei (386-534) and Sui (581-618) dynasties. Its present appearance is a result of repairs and additions by the Ming emperors (1368-1644). Not surprisingly, the Persian-Manchurian Trojan Horse conquerors of the Ming were let through built-in-gates in the wall by a traitor. The Great Wall is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A metaphor, from a Greek word meaning "to carry over," is a figure of speech in which a word properly belonging to a particular object is applied to another. Metaphor is the single most important device of literary language and the principal means by which ordinary usage increases its range of definition. Language itself is profoundly metaphorical because people find it easier to grasp concepts when they are expressed by concrete analogy. Many words that were once used metaphorically for this reason, such as the "leg" of a table, the "hood" of a car, or the "summit" of an achievement, have now ceased to be figurative and are accepted as literal descriptions. Such expressions are called dead metaphors. The use of two incongruous metaphors in proximity often results in the absurdity of a mixed metaphor.

Metaphor, an implicit analogy, is often distinguished from simile, an explicit comparison containing the words like or as. The difference is merely linguistic, however, and both metaphor and simile are used in literature to evoke concrete and abstract likenesses between disparate objects or areas of experience.

Aphorisms, maxims, and proverbs express general truths in pithy, concise, and memorable forms. Aphorisms are frequently of known authorship and imply a certain distinction of content or style, as in the medical Aphorisms of Hippocrates, from whom the word is derived. Via trita via tuta ("the beaten path is the safe one") is a familiar aphorism.

Maxims originally were synonymous with axioms--basic propositions that could be assumed as first principles in reasoning, especially in philosophy or science. Maxims now generally express accepted rules or precepts of conduct.

Proverbs are often homely, witty, and colorful statements of general truth and wisdom, especially of a moral nature. They are often stated in an alliterative or rhymed form, as in Ben Franklin's "Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise."

Paphos (1998 est. pop., 38,800), a small port on the southwestern shore of Cyprus, has extensive archaeological remains from several periods. It was apparently colonized as early as the 13th century BC by Greeks from Mycenae, who erected a temple to Aphrodite--believed to have been born from the sea off this coast--in the 12th century. Another city of Paphos was founded nearby in the late 3d century BC, and it soon became a major port and capital of Ptolemaic and later Roman Cyprus. The remains of villas (containing notable mosaics), tombs, and a well-preserved semicircular theater, the Odeon, date from this period. Paphos also has several Byzantine fortresses and churches. The ruins at Paphos have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

One of the pelycosaurs, primitive mammallike reptiles of the Late Carboniferous and Permian periods, Edaphosaurus was a small to medium-size herbivore with a low, bulky body, short, sprawling legs, and a long, heavy tail. It may have weighed as much as 180 kg (400 lb). Its most distinctive feature, a high rigid dorsal fin stretching from the back of its head to behind its hips, was supported by long spines from the backbone and had many lateral projections, or crossbars. It has been theorized that the dorsal fin functioned as a temperature-regulating device (see Dimetrodon), but perhaps the fin merely made the animal appear much larger, in side view, to potential predators.

Yoga, a Sanskrit word generally meaning "union," refers to a method of gaining that release from the bondage of karma and rebirth that constitutes the highest aim for most Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains. (See ANAbaptists)

The complexity of the term wit, derived from Old English witan, "to know," is suggested by C. S. Lewis's judgment (of NARNIA fame) that "if a man had time to study one word only, wit (see Tiny Tim Horton) would perhaps be the best word he could choose." Its general reference is to mental capacity.

Genetic Engineering's Greatest Show on Earth

MY STORY IS A "HI STORY--LO STORY" MYSTERY

When on board the rat race "Scarab Beetle," as "A" minimalist, I was much struck with certain facts in the distribution of the other beings inhabiting Canada, and in the geological relations of the present to the past inhabitants of North America. These facts seemed to throw some light on the "human engineered" possibilty of the origin of our species--that Eastern Question mystery of mysteries as it has been called by Plato, one of the engineer's greatest philosophers.

In time it occurred to me, beginning in I987, that something might perhaps be made out on this question by patiently accumulating and reflecting on all sorts of facts which could possibly have any bearing on it.

After ten years' work I allowed myself to speculate on the subject, and drew up some notes; these I enlarged in 1998 into a sketch of the conclusions about cave troglodytes, which then seemed to me probable; from that period to the present day I have steadily pursued the same object. I hope that I may be excused for entering on these personal details, as I give them to show that I have not been hasty in coming to a decision.

My work is now (2006) nearly finished; but as it will take me many more years to complete it (2062), as I must now wait on the perpetrators to act first, I have been urged to publish an Abstract. I have more especially been induced to do this, as others who are now studying the history of Europe, NATSI Asia, Africa and America, have arrived at almost exactly the same general conclusions that I have on the origin of our species, with a request that I would publish it in the final volume of the Journal of the Skull and Bones
Society of Friends (sima-amis).

This semi-coded Abstract, which I now publish as a net diary, must necessarily be imperfect. I cannot here give references and authorities for my several statements; and I must trust to the open-minded reader reposing some confidence in my accuracy. No doubt errors may have crept in but these were corrected at the earliest possible moment, though I hope I have always been cautious in trusting to good authorities alone. I can here give only the general conclusions at which I have arrived, with a few facts in illustration, but which, I hope, in most cases will suffice. Personal osmosis is always better and for that I conduct seminar-workshops at the farm.

No one can feel more sensible than I do of the necessity of hereafter publishing in detail all the facts on which my conclusions have been grounded; and I hope in a future work to do this. For I am well aware that scarcely a single point is discussed on this site on which facts cannot be adduced, often apparently leading to conclusions which have been purposely made directly opposite to those at which I have arrived. A fair result can be obtained only by fully stating and balancing the facts and arguments on both sides of each side of each question; and this is here impossible.

I much regret that my resources prevent my having the satisfaction of acknowledging the generous assistance which I have received from my approximately 500,000 co-conspirators, some of them personally unknown to me whom I met on my travels. I cannot, however, let this opportunity pass without expressing my deep obligations to the supporters of CIPI, who, for the last fifteen years, have aided me in every possible way.

In considering the origin of our human species, it is quite conceivable that upon reflecting on the mutual affinities of organic beings, on their embryological relations, their geographical distribution, geological succession, and other such facts, one might come to the conclusion that our species has independently evolved. Such a conclusion, even if well founded, would be unsatisfactory, until it could be shown how the innumerable species inhabiting this world have at times been modified, so as to acquire that perfection of structure and coadaptation which justly excites our admiration. Naturalists continually refer to external environmental conditions, such as climate, food, etc., as the only possible cause of variation. In one limited sense this may be true; but it is preposterous to attribute to mere external conditions, the structure, for instance, of the self-serving "charity begins at home" Free-Mason so admirably adapted to obtaining public contracts not available to others, even if they are more qualified.

It is, therefore, of the highest importance to gain a clear insight into the means of modification and coadaptation. At the commencement of my observations it seemed to me probable, after reading St. Bernard, that a careful study of domesticated animals and of cultivated plants would offer the best chance of making out this obscure problem. Nor have I been disappointed; in this and in all other perplexing cases I have invariably found that our knowledge, imperfect though it be, of variation under domestication, afforded the best and safest clue. I may venture to express my conviction of the high value of such studies, although they have been very commonly neglected by most people.

From these considerations, I am fully convinced that our species are susceptible to change; but that those belonging to what are called the same genera are lineal descendants of some pre Ice Age species, in the same manner as the acknowledged varieties of any one species are the descendants of that species. Furthermore, I am convinced that Genetic and Human Engineering has been the most important, but not exclusive means of our modification.

The "Born Again" Abu Musab al-Zarqawi

Open source coding has suggested all along that ZARQAWI, as was the former interim Prime Minister of Iraq al-Awi, was connected to the Anabaptist beheaders, the Skull and Bones society.
