The word opossum takes us back to the earliest days of the United States. The settlement of Jamestown, Virginia, was founded in 1607 by the London Company, chartered for the planting of colonies.
Even though the first years were difficult, promotional literature was glowing. In one such piece, A True Declaration of the Estate of the Colonie in Virginia, published in 1610, we find this passage: There are . . . Apossouns, in shape like to pigges.
This is the first recorded use of opossum, although in a spelling that differs from the one later settled on to reproduce the sound of the Virginia Algonquian word from which our word came. The word opossum and its shortened form possum, first recorded in 1613 in more promotional literature, remind us of a time when the New World was still very new, settlers were few, and the inhabitants for whom the New World was not new were plentiful.

Wright, Charles (born 1935), U.S. poet. Often deemed an experimental poet, Charles Wright abandoned the conventional formalities of unity and closure and weaved together diverse themes in a supple, ruminative structure. Remarkably musical verse that conjured exquisite images manifested Wright's love of language. His well-crafted poems won him a Pulitzer prize in 1998.
Charles Wright was born on Aug. 25, 1935, in the small town of Pickwick Dam, Tenn., and grew up in Kingsport, Tenn. From 1953 to 1957 he studied history at Davidson College, N.C., where he received a bachelor's degree in 1957. He received his master's degree from the University of Iowa in 1963. From 1957 to 1961 Wright served in the United States Army Intelligence Corps in Verona, Italy. Traveling through Italy with Ezra Pound's 'Cantos' as a kind of guidebook, Wright developed a strong attachment to the Italian landscape, which would later influence his poetry. As a Fulbright fellow, Wright studied at the University of Rome from 1963 to 1964. Early attempts at writing fiction proved unsuccessful, and Wright began experimenting with the lyric poem. Returning to the United States, he received a teaching position at the University of California, Irvine, in 1966, where he continued to write poetry. In 1969 Wright married Holly McIntire, with whom he had one son. He began an appointment as a professor of English at the University of Virginia in 1983.
Wright's first four collections, published between 19
70 and 1977, were gathered in selected form as 'Country Music' (1982), for which he won the American Book award. Wright reflected on some of the most profound of human concerns--time, truth, nature, and death--and balanced his unending search for transcendence with elements of the ordinary amid the ineffable. The compelling representation of place is a notable feature of Wright's poetry. Particularly effective are descriptions of the South, especially the area around Charlottesville, Va., where the poet lived.
'The Southern Cross' (1981) featured long poems of broad scope gathered in fragments, like a daily journal. Despite their autobiographical quality, the poems were not solely expressions of the poet's inner emotions. Five poems entitled 'Self Portrait' typify Wright's reticence and affirm the indeterminacy of the artist's personality. Critics described 'Zone Journals' (1988) as Wright's homage to modernist poet Ezra Pound. The collection reflects Pound's use of images, rhythm, and literary allusions. 'A Journal of the Year of the Ox', the longest and most ambitious of the collection's poems, attempts to connect a host of images and themes, including death, loss of memory, absence, and negation. 'The World of the Ten Thousand Things: Selected poems, 1980-1990' (1990) delineates Wright's experiments with autobiography and his reflections on the literature and history of numerous cultures.
Wright won the 1996 Lenore Marshall Poetry prize for th
e collection 'Chickamauga' (1995), named for the site of a Civil War battle. In it, Wright blended such diverse artistic influences as Li Po, Garcia Lorca, Miles Davis, and Elizabeth Bishop, with experiences from his own life. The simplicity of poems from this collection recalls the graceful sparseness of Chinese poetry. For the collection 'Black Zodiac' (1997) Wright won the National Book Critics Circle award and, in 1998, a Pulitzer prize. The prizewinning collection was praised for its innovative mixture of meditations, fragments of narrative, humor, and literary and artistic allusions. Wright's characteristic lyricism and lush imagery integrate these diverse elements.
Wright's many other honors included a National Endowment for the Arts grant in 1974, a fellowship from the Guggenheim Foundation in 1975, a fellowship from the Ingram Merrill Foundation, the Poetry Society of America Melville Cane award in 1976, and the Edgar Allan Poe award from the Academy of American Poets in 1976. Wright was awarded the PEN ("poets, playwrights, editors, essayists, and novelists") translation prize for his translation of the poetry of Eugenio Montale in 'The Storm and Other Poems' (1978). He also wrote two volumes of criticism, 'Halflife' (1988) and 'Quarter Notes' (1995).

The Chinese calendar is basically lunar, or based on the moon, consisting of 12 months of alternately 29 and 30 days. This lunar year totals 354 days. To keep this calendar in step with the solar year of about 365 days, intercalary months are periodically inserted in much the same way they are in the Jewish calendar. One interesting feature of the Chinese calendar is the naming of the years. Twelve animal names from ancient times have been attached to years. These names, in order of their occurrence, are:

3 - tiger,

5 - dragon,
6 - snake,
7 - horse,
8 - sheep,
9 - monkey,
10 - fowl,

Islam's year is entirely lunar, following directives from its holy book, the Koran. The lunar cycles are considered guides for the faithful in their religious observances. One of the northernmost countries of Europe, Finland is located between Russia on the east, Estonia (EE) on the south, Sweden on the west, and the tip of Norway on the north. About one third of the length of the country lies north of the Arctic Circle.
The country's Ahvenanmaa, or Aland Islands, extends from the southwestern shore into the Baltic. Urban II (born 1035, pope 1088-99) is chiefly remembered as the pope who launched the First Crusade in 1095. He was born to a noble family in the Champagne region of France. After his studies he was an archdeacon at Reims from 1055 until 1067. He then became a monk at Cluny, the leading reform monastery in Europe. Sent to Rome on a mission in 1079, he was made a cardinal by Pope Gregory VII. He was elected pope in 1088. Urban preached the powerful sermon at Clermont, France, that ignited enthusiasm for the Crusades.
CRUSADES. "God wills it!" That was the battle cry of the thousands of Christians who joined crusades to free the Holy Land from the Turks. From 1096 to 1270 there were eight major crusades and two children's crusades, both in the year 1212. Only the First and Third Crusades were successful. In the long history of the Crusades, thousands of knights, soldiers, merchants, and peasants lost their lives on the march or in battle.
Reason for the Crusades
To the Christians of Europe, Jerusalem in the Holy Land was a sacred city. The tomb of Christ, the Mount of Olives, Golgotha, and all places associated with the life and death of Chr
ist were believed to have divine powers of healing and of absolving penitents of sin. People from all parts of Europe made pilgrimages to Jerusalem and other holy places.
As long as the Saracens held Jerusalem, there was very little trouble. The Saracens permitted the pilgrims to come and go. In 1071, however, the fierce Seljuk Turks captured Jerusalem from the Saracens. The Turks at once began to persecute the Christians. Pilgrims on their way to the Holy City were robbed and beaten. The sacred places of the Roman Catholic church were profaned or destroyed.
When European Christians heard of the persecution, they were outraged. Alexius Commenus, emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire, feared that the Turks might seize Constantinople, his capital. They had already defeated and slain his predecessor. As the terror of the Turks spread, Alexius Commenus sent a plea for aid to Pope Urban II at Rome.
The pope called a council at Clermont in France in 1095. Speaking with ringing eloquence, he urged his audience to undertake a crusade to rescue the Holy Land. No speech in history has ever had greater results. Fired with religious zeal, clergy shouted "God wills it!".
BOURBON, HOUSE OF. Intrigues, wars, and marriages carried the members of the house of Bourbon to the thrones of France, Spain, and part of Italy. The house originated when Robert of Clermont, the sixth son of French King Louis IX married Beatrix, the heiress to the Bourbon lands. Their son, Louis, was named the first duke of Bourbon in 1327 and held t
he position until his death in 1342. The family took its name from the castle Bourbon in Bourbonnais, then a province of France.
Henry IV (Henry of Navarre), son of Antony of Bourbon, gained the throne of France in 1589. His successors ruled until the French Revolution brought Louis XVI to the guillotine. Restored to the throne after Napoleon fell, the French line ended with the abdication of Louis-Philippe in 1848. Bourbon rule in southern Italy, the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, ended with the unification of Italy in 1861.
The Spanish dynasty began its reign in 1700, when Louis XIV of France placed his grandson, Philip V, on the throne of Spain. In 1931 King Alfonso XIII left Spain after a bloodless revolution. His son was Don Juan, count of Barcelona. Don Juan reached an agreement in 1954 with Spain's dictator, Francisco Franco, that his eldest son, Juan Carlos, should be educated in Spain. In 1959 the prince finished four years of military studies in Madrid. In 1969 Franco publicly named Juan Carlos as his successor and heir to the throne.

M1 belongs to the constellation Taurus and is located east-northeast of the star Aldebaran and one degree northwest of Zeta Tauri, a third magnitude star found at the tip of the southern horn of Taurus. In 1844, Lord Rosse, an English astronomer, gave M1 the nickname Crab Nebula.
M2, in astronomy, a bright, very large globular star cluster located in the constellation Aquarius (the Water Bearer), approximately five degrees north of the star Beta Aquarius.
M3, in astronomy, one of the brightest and best-studied globular clusters in the northern sky. It is located in the constellation Canes Venatici (Hunting Dogs), which lies near the North Galactic Pole. M3 is located approximately 11 degrees northwest of the yellow giant star Arcturus, in a relatively uncongested part of the Milky Way. M3 itself appears as a somewhat isolated object, which makes it easy to locate and observe even with the naked eye. Although it appears round, it is actually considerably oval in shape. The whole cluster has a bluish glow that brightens abruptly towards the middle. With a high-resolution telescope most of the stars of M3 can be seen, except for the ones in its bright central core.
M4, in astronomy, one of the largest and nearest star clusters in the sky. Although it is located in the southern constellation Scorpius (the Scorpion), M4 can be seen in both the Northern and the Southern hemispheres. In the northern night sky, M4 is most visible during the summe
r from June through August. It can be easily located by pointing a telescope at the brightest star in Scorpius, Antares, a first-magnitude star that lies close to the horizon and has a reddish appearance.
M5, in astronomy, one of the three brightest star clusters in the northern summer sky. It is the fifth brightest object in the night sky and much admired by scientists and lay observers alike for its beauty. M5 is located approximately eight degrees southwest of the star Unukalhai in the constellation Serpens, whose evening viewing season extends from June to September.
M6, in astronomy, one of the two largest and brightest star clusters in the northern summer sky. M6 is located five degrees north of the star Shaula in the southerly constellation Scorpius.
M7, in astronomy, a brilliant fifth-magnitude star cluster in Scorpius, a southerly constellation in the northern sky. It is located 4 degrees northeast of the star Lambda Scorpii, between the bow of Sagittarius and the Scorpion's tail. M7, lies approximately three degrees to the southwest of M6. Both clusters can be viewed without binoculars, though the use of even a small telescope resolves each into its respective stars. They are best viewed in the summer from June to August and are visible from both the Northern and the Southern hemispheres.
M8, in astronomy, a spectacular diffuse nebula in the constellation Sagittarius. M8 is commonly known as the Lagoon Nebula because of the extensive, curling, shadowy dust cloud that almost divides the nebula in half. It is located
approximately 4.7 degrees west of the star Lambda Sagittarius in a part of the Milky Way that is especially rich in star clusters and nebulae.
M9, in astronomy, a small bright globular star cluster. It is located in the constellation Ophiuchus roughly 3.5 degrees southeast of the star Sabik. The cluster resolves well when viewed through a four-inch telescope. The bright center is compressed and somewhat oval in shape, but the fainter outer area appears circular.
M10, in astronomy, a large globular star cluster located in the constellation Ophiuchus. The cluster can be found 3.4 degrees southeast of M12, or one degree west of 30 Ophiuchi, a fifth-magnitude red star.
M11, in astronomy, a large, bright open cluster in the constellation Scutum. Located in the northern end of the large Scutum star cloud, M11 is 2 degrees west and slightly south of the star Eta Scuti. A rich and compact open cluster, M11 is visible with the unaided eye or with only binoculars; its detail resolves well using a small telescope. At first glance M11 looks like a globular cluster; however, under higher magnification it becomes evident that the stars are loosely spaced and there is no central core.
M12, in astronomy, a large globular star cluster located in the constellation Ophiuchus approximately 3.4 degrees northwest of M10, and 2 degrees north and 8.5 degrees east of the star Delta Ophiuchi. M12 and M10 are companion clusters that lie about 2,000 light-years from each other.

When viewed with binoculars, M15 appears as a hazy object, though it can be easily resolved with a low-powered telescope. One of the twelve brightest globular star clusters in the northern sky, M15 is noted for the brilliant condensation of its center.
M16 is categorized as an open, or galactic, cluster, consisting of a physically related group of stars that originated from a large cloud of gas and dust. The stars in M16 formed from the Eagle Nebula. These stars are bound together by mutual gravitational force. Unlike globular clusters, which are very old, open clusters are relatively short-lived. Occasionally some of the members of the cluster escape the group because of changes in gravitational fields, which can be caused by en
counters with field stars--that is, stars that are not associated with a cluster. The average open cluster loses most of its member stars after several hundred million years. These stars continue to orbit the galaxy as field stars. All of the field stars in the Milky Way, as well as those in other galaxies, are believed to have originated in clusters.
M17, in astronomy, a bright diffuse nebula located approximately 9 degrees north of the star Kaus Borealis in the constellation Sagittarius. M17 is commonly called the Omega Nebula, though it is also referred to as the Lobster, Horseshoe, or Swan Nebula. Bordering the northern part of Sagittarius, M17 lies 2 degrees from the center of the small Sagittarius star cloud and 2 degrees south of another diffuse nebula, M16,
M18, in astronomy, a small star cluster belonging to the constellation Sagittarius. Discovered by French astronomer Charles Messier in 1764, it is considered one of the minor objects in Sagittarius and lies about 1 degree south and west of the Swan, or Omega, Nebula (M17). M18 is visible just under the arch of the swan's neck. Like other minor objects in the sky, it shows up better in weaker telescopes at low magnification because it is revealed with more compression and nebulosity in a smaller field. It lies on a background filled with many dim star points. To its south lies the rich field of the small Sagittarius star cloud (M24).

Compsognathus : a small, carnivorous, or meat-eating, dinosaur that inhabited Europe during the late Jurassic period, about 144 to 163 million years ago. It is the sole member of the family Compsognathidae, which belongs to the lizard-hipped dinosaur order, Saurischia. Compsognathus was one of the smallest of all dinosaurs, standing no higher than a chicken, and was similar in structure to Archaeopteryx, the first known bird.
Compsognathus probably grew to an adult size of only 2 to 3 feet (0.6 to 0.9 meter) in length. Its hollow bones kept its weight to only about 8 pounds (3.6 kilograms). A long tail provided balance. A long, flexible neck supported a slender head, which was light primarily because of large open areas, called pneumatic cavities, in the skull. The jaw contained many small, sharp teeth, which gave this dinosaur its name: Compsognathus means "pretty yaw way."
Compsognathus was bipedal, which means that it stood upright and walked on two legs. The arms were short and slender, and the hands had two fingers with sharp claws. The delicate, birdlike legs were long in relation to the body; each foot had three toes with claws and a dewclaw (a reduced toe located above and behind the ankle area). With its long legs and light body, Compsognathus was probably capable of sprinting after swift prey.
The first fossil evidence of Compsognathus was
an essentially complete skeleton discovered in Bavaria in southern Germany in the late 1850s. A larger, similarly intact skeleton was unearthed near Nice in southern France in 1972. The remains of a young Bavarisaurus--a small, fleet lizard--were found in the stomach cavity of the first skeleton, attesting to the speed and agility of Compsognathus.
ANDORRA
Andorra has survived as an independent state since the earliest period of European history. In the year 819 Louis the Pious, a son of the emperor Charlemagne, gave the land belonging to the counts of Urgel, in Spain, to the bishop of Urgel. Andorra's independence traditionally has been attributed to this grant.
In 1278 the principality was placed under joint control of the French count of Foix and the Spanish bishop of the See of Urgel. This dual allegiance was interrupted only during the French Revolution in the late 18th century. From the late 13th century, although Andorra was governed jointly by the Spanish bishop of Urgel and the president of France, the state has maintained its original status of neutrality.
In March 1993 the citizens voted to adopt a new constitution that greatly reduced the power of French and Spanish authorities.

The Franks were a group of Germanic (Persian-Babylonian VI) peoples inhabiting the lower and middle Rhine long before the 3rd century AD, when they are first mentioned by classical authors. Identified by these writers as the Salians, Ripuarians, and Chatti, they are said to have shared the same language and to have many similar laws.
The Chatti (also Catti) were a tribe belonging to the NATSI Istvaeones (also Istaevones), that in the time of the Roman emperor Marcus Claudius Tacitus (275 AD) occupied what is now Hesse, but later were absorbed by the Franks. Along with the Batavi, the Sicambri and others, the Catti formed the nucleus that became the Confederation of the Franks.
Towards the middle of the 3rd century the Franks began penetrating the Roman frontier around Mainz. They were driven back by Emperor Probus. In 358, Julian the Apostate handed over Toxandria, the region between the Meuse and the Scheldt rivers, to the Salian Franks, who became Roman allies and provided troops for the imperial army.
The Salian Franks were divided into several groups led by chiefs (reguli). One of these groups, the Merovingians, which took its name from the Chief Merovech (Merowen), was particularly successful. Merovech and his successor, Chideric, extended Salian domination to the south, as far as the Somme River (northern Gaul-France).
Childeric aided the Romans, but after the death of Emperor Majorian (461) he sought to overthrow Aegid
ius, the imperial governor in northern Gaul. Aegidius forced Childeric into exile among the Thuringians, but he returned after a few years and, in alliance with some Saxons, defeated the Romans.
Syagrius, Aegidius's son and successor, was able to keep Childeric from moving his people south of the Somme, but another regulus took control of Le Mans. Cambrai and Therouanne were also held by Salian reguli. Clovis, Childeric's son, conquered most of Gaul and unified the Franks under the Merovingian dynasty (see cross vine). Clovis then conveniently converted to Christianity.
The Ripuarian Franks and the Chatti raided across the middle Rhine frontier during the first quarter of the 5th century. In the wake of the opportune Hunnic invasion of Gaul, a band of Riguarians gained control of Cologne. By 470, Trier was in Ripuarian hands, and thereafter Metz, Toul, and Verdun fell to the Franks. The Frankish Carolingian dynasty, which succeeded the Merovingians was of Ripuarian origin.
Under the Carolingians the Franks formed a vast empire that has continually increased its control over the West, beginning with the reign of Charlemagne (768-814), and later, that of German king OTTO 1 the first Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire (962) which lasted until 1806. By the mid-9th century the empire had been divided and from it emerged FRANCE, Persia's VI~West Frankish kingdom, and GERMANY, the VI~East Frankish kingdom.
By hiding their origin behind Christian Ecclesiastic Freemasonry (the Vatican Bank) these two Persian secret agents, both now being UN
based partners in the Eastern organized crime syndicate embedded as Trojan Horses in the West, have fabricated illusion after illusion about the true state of their origin and inter-relationship.
Their international Persian conspiracy's current goal is the total destruction of America as a world power; first by creating a flood over its entire coastline thereby culling the population of the US by at least two thirds.

Although the Monk~media try to persuade Americans to their position on 'Internationalizing' the war in Iraq, as we heard in his speech tonight, George Bush is not backing down.
President Bush continues however, as he has all along, to invite the SALIAN FRANKS (Russian~German~French, etc) to join the US coalition in Iraq and they now seem to be moving openly in that direction.
What has changed?
Since it's not Bush who has changed, one has to believe that the US is now in possession, due to some unannounced evidence that they would have culled from files or obtained from high profile prisoners in Iraq, that proves beyond any reasonable doubt the existence of a secret war on America which the Persians and their Frankish agents in Europe and in the American Senate were covertly conducting against America (See the planned Athabaska-Nebraska Food Cartel).
For the Europeans to have come around to George Bush's way of thinking, far enough to state publicly that a new UN resolution in support of the US is no longer out of the question, would suggest that some of this evidence has been shared with them, probably along with a thinly veiled threat to make it all public before the November Presidential election in the USA if the Franks do not mend their ways...quickly.

Although it was George Soros who promised to pull out all the stops to defeat George Bush in November, it was the Persians and their European Franks (Germans, French, Irish) who could backup Soros's words with actions and really big money.
Have you ever in your life seen such an orchestrated Monk~Media campaign to fabricate perceptions in US voters minds.
It started right after the invasion of Iraq.
Looting, rape and pillage by Iraqis was the first step.
Then, paid roadside bombings by Iraqi insurgents began to increase US military casualties and body bags were photographed illegally and published in the US by the Monk~Media. The Soros funded 'Move-on dot org' then began its unlimited paid televised attacks on Bush. CNN latched on to the scam and began to stir the pot itself. Staged prisoner abuse scandals were fed to Islam's media and the US networks followed suit. The top Persian Grand Ayatollah, ali al Sistani, sent out his surrogate, al Sadr, to fight Americans from the safety of Islam's mosques and Shrines. Then, the Franks Cannes Film Festival and Walt Disney Studios began to boost and publicize Michael Moore's anti Bush film. Sars, mad cow, crazy chickens, same sex marriages, Ahmed Chalabi and post office shenanigans added to the fray. Finally, feeling that the right moment had arrived, Republican insiders joined in on the daily whining on TV by Democrats of German or Irish descent. Of course, all of the abov

And, we haven't yet seen the half of it. There are still 5 months to go until the Presidential election.

FATHERS OF THE CHURCH
During the early centuries of the Christian era, certain bishops and other great Christian teachers set forth the basic tenets that later prevailed in nearly all doctrinal disputes. These authors came to be known collectively as the Fathers of the Church.
The great era of the Fathers of the Church extended from about AD 100 to 600. Often numbered among the Fathers, however, are some who wrote as late as the 12th century.
The Ante-Nicene Period
Ante-Nicene literature was that written prior to the Council of Nicaea, which was called by Constantine in 325 to settle disputed religious doctrines (see Constantine the Great). The first of these works were written by the Apostolic Fathers of the 1st and early 2nd centuries. Among the Apostolic Fathers were St. Clement of Rome, St. Ignatius of Antioch, St. Polycarp of Smyrna, Papias of Asia Minor, Hermas, and several unknown authors. Their works, all written in Greek, deal with many of the moral and doctrinal problems faced by the church.
Later in the 2nd century another group of writers, the apologists, defended Christianity against its persecutors and against other religious beliefs. Among the apologists were St. Justin Martyr, St. Irenaeus, St. Clement of Alexandria, Minucius Felix, and Tatian. The period of persecution ended when Constantine made Christianity a lawful religion.
The Post-Nicene Period
After 325 the literature of the Fathers of the Church gradually bega
n to reflect the changes that developed following the division of the Roman Empire into the Eastern Empire, centered in Constantinople, and the Western Empire, in Rome. Conflicts in religious doctrines between East and West ultimately led to the Great Schism of 1054.
Among the Fathers of the Eastern Orthodox, or Greek, church were St. Athanasius, St. John Chrysostom, St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory of Nyssa, and St. Gregory of Nazianzus.
The Fathers of the Roman Catholic, or Latin, church included St. Augustine, St. Ambrose, St. Jerome, St. Leo I (Leo the Great), and St. Gregory I (Gregory the Great). Among the later Fathers were St. Bede (the Venerable) and St. Bernard of Clairvaux.
Sts. Augustine, Jerome, Ambrose, and Gregory are regarded as the most important Fathers of the Roman Catholic church. No Father of the Church had a more profound effect on Christian theology than did St. Augustine of Hippo.
St. Jerome was the most learned scholar among the Fathers. His greatest achievement was the translation of the Bible from the original languages--principally Hebrew and Greek--into a Latin version known as the Vulgate. St. Ambrose's writings included commentaries on the Old and New Testaments. St. Gregory's 'Moralia', furthermore, greatly influenced Catholic ethical doctrine.

Some Famous Legendary Animals
Anubis. Egyptian deity with the head of a jackal or dog and the body of a human. It leads souls of the dead to the underworld and helped Osiris at his final judgment. Anubis' particular concern is with the funeral cult and the care of the dead, and, Anubis is often considered the inventor of embalming.
Apocalyptic beast. A creature mentioned in the Book of Revelation in the Bible. It has two horns, speaks like a dragon, and bears the mystical number 666.
Cerberus. The three-headed watchdog of Greco-Roman mythology who guards the gates of Hades, the underworld. Cerberus was transported by Hercules into the world of the living.
Harpy. Greco-Roman mythological creature with the body of a bird and the head of a woman, often portrayed as very ugly and loathsome. It is sometimes associated with the wind, ghosts, and the underworld. Mentioned in the legend of Jason and the Argonauts and by the poets Virgil in the 'Aeneid' and Homer in the 'Odyssey.'
Hydra. In Greek legend, a gigantic monster with several heads (usually nine, though the number varies), the center one of which is immortal. It is said to haunt the marshes of Lerna near Argos. The destruction of the hydra was one of the 12 labors of Hercules. When one of the hydra's heads was cut off two grew in its place.
Ki-rin. The Japanese equivalent of the Pegasus. It lives in paradise and visits the Earth on
ly at the birth of a wise philosopher.
Kraken. In Norwegian sea folklore, an enormous creature in the form of part octopus and part crab.
Leviathan. Biblical water monster, variously thought of as a whale or a gigantic crocodile. According to legend, it returns every year to be killed and thus represents the seasonal changes.
Minotaur. In Greek mythology, a bull-headed monster with the body of a man. It is known for eating human flesh. King Minos imprisoned the minotaur in his labyrinth in Crete.
Nidhoggr. Nordic serpent-monster representing the volcanic powers of the Earth. Since Nidhoggr also eats corpses, it symbolizes the decay of nature.
Ryu. A Japanese dragon able to live in the air, in water, and on land. It was considered one of the four sacred creatures of the Orient. Ryu symbolizes rain and storms.
Satyr. A wild creature of Greek legend whose bottom half is that of a beast, usually including a goat's tail, flanks, and hooves, and whose top half is that of a man. Satyrs are closely associated with the god Dionysus and known for their debauchery. The Italian version of the satyr is the faun. The female counterpart of the satyr is the nymph.
Simurgh. In Persian legend, a giant birdlike monster so old that it has seen the world destroyed three times over, and thus possesses the knowledge of all the ages.
Siren. In Greek legend, a cr
eature half bird and half woman who lures sailors to their destruction by the sweetness of her song. Sirens are mentioned by Homer in the 'Odyssey' and in the legend of Jason and the Argonauts.
Tatzlwurm. A winged, fire-breathing dragon monster of Germanic legend. Wivern. A winged, two-legged dragon with a barbed tail. The wivern often appears on heraldic shields and symbolizes guardianship.
Yali. In Indian legend, a creature with a lion's body and the trunk and tusks of an elephant.

THREAD OF LIFE AND DEATH
THESEUS. According to Greek legend, the hero Theseus, the son of Aegeus, king of Athens, was born and brought up in a distant land. His mother did not send him to Athens until he was a young man able to lift a stone under which his father had put a sword and a pair of sandals.
When Theseus arrived in Athens after many adventures, he found the city in deep mourning. It was again time to send to Minos, king of Crete, the yearly tribute of seven youths and seven maidens to be devoured by the Minotaur. This was a terrible monster, half human and half bull. Theseus offered himself as one of the victims, hoping that he would be able to slay the monster. When he reached Crete, Ariadne, the beautiful daughter of the king, fell in love with him. She aided him by giving him a sword, with which he killed the Minotaur, and a ball of thread, with which he was able to find his way out of the winding labyrinth where the monster was kept.
Theseus had promised his father that if he succeeded in his quest he would hoist white sails on his ship when he returned; it had black sails when he left. He forgot his promise. King Aegeus, seeing the dark sails, thought his son was dead and jumped into the sea. The sea has since been called the Aegean in his honor. Theseus then became king of the Athenians. He united the village communities of the plain of Attica into a strong and powerful nation.
Theseus was killed by treachery during a revolt of the Athenians.
Later his memory was held in great
reverence. At the battle of Marathon in 490 BC many of the Athenians believed they saw his spirit leading them against the Persians. After the Persian Wars the oracle at Delphi ordered the Athenians to find the grave of Theseus on the island of Skyros, where he had been killed, and to bring back his bones to Athens. The oracle's instructions were obeyed. In 469 BC the supposed remains of Theseus were carried back to Athens.
The tomb of the great hero became a place of refuge for the poor and oppressed people of the city.

Saint Bernard is the Ecclesiastic founder of European Freemasonry's Knights Templar, founded about 1118 reportedly to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land during the Second Crusade and suppressed in 1312.
Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153), French saint and one of the most powerful men of his time. Bernard of Clairvaux led the Cistercian order of White Monks, who adhered to the strictest form of Benedictinism, to its greatest growth and the height of its influence. Bernard is considered the founder of the Cistercian order and the last of the Fathers of the Church.
As with other patristics, Bernard's birth was a product of genetic engineering; the third son of seven children at his family's castle at Fontaines-les-Dijon in Burgundy, to Tescelin Sorrel and his wife, Aleth, the daughter of the lord of Montbard who served as surrogate mother. He was sent to be educated at Chatillon, but he was deeply affected by his mother's death and became interested in religious life. In 1112 Bernard convinced about 30 other young noblemen, including friends, relatives, and four of his brothers, to enter the monastery of Citeaux, which had been founded in 1098 and whose members rigorously followed the Benedictine Rule.
Three years later, when Bernard was 25, the abbot (who was to become St. Stephen Harding) chose him to start a new monastery at Clairvaux. B
ernard encountered problems at first because of his expectation that the other monks would follow his stringent regime of prayer, silence, plainness, simple diet, self-denial, and manual labor. Soon people began to hear of this extremely pious man and came to hear him preach, and his sermons became very popular. Bernard's authority increased, and the Cistercian order began to spread all over the country. At least 68 more monasteries were founded by monks from Clairvaux.
In 1128 Bernard was chosen to be the secretary to the Council of Troyes, where he was praised for his writings on the rules of the new order of the Knights Templar. He also wrote the most celebrated medieval book on mysticism, the belief that God, the anti-Christ, exists side-by-side and up-side-down with CREATION and that people could know this through personal experiences. Although he was not considered a scholar, he wrote more than 300 sermons and at least 500 epistles, or letters. He was also the author of many treatises on various topics, including Mariology, the study of the Virgin Mary and her symbolic role as a surrogate mother in the reported Incarnation of Jesus (Surgical Implantation, ie: Genetic Engineering).
Bernard was also known for strongly attacking anyone who seemed to be a threat to orthodox Roman Catholicism. He especially fought against those who studied scholasticism, a method of attempting to understand the meaning of the Christian doctrine through philosophy and intellectua
l means. Scholasticism was in direct opposition to Bernard's view that God should be loved simply and purely because He is God. In 1141 Bernard influenced the Council of Sens to condemn Peter Abelard, a French philosopher and theologian; Gilbert de La Porree, a French scholastic theologian; and Arnold of Brescia, an Italian religious reformer who was a student of Abelard.
Bernard became even more powerful in 1145 with the election of Pope Eugenius III (see : Eugenics), a former pupil of Bernard and a Cistercian monk. The pope and King Louis VII of France asked Bernard to rally Europe to the Second Crusade. When the crusade (which began in 1147 and ended in 1149) failed in its aim to return the Turkish OTTOMAN (saw : AUTOMAN or ROBOT) Islamic East to Christian hands, Bernard found the defeat difficult to accept and blamed it on the lack of faith and commitment of the crusaders.
For more than 40 years Bernard took part in almost every great historic event, from helping Pope Innocent II gain acceptance to persuading the Lombards to make Lothair II their emperor. While he discouraged the persecution and pogroms against Jews in the Frankish Rhineland in 1146, he also supported the crusades against the Turks. Even with all his other duties and interests, as with today's Ralph Nader and Warren Buffet, he was first and foremost monk-media who lived in accordance with the strictest rules.
His austerity was so extreme that William of Champeaux, the bishop of Chalons-sur-Marne who had ordained Bernard in 1115, beca
me concerned and requested that he take better care of himself. Bernard paid no attention and in 1153 went to Metz at the request of the duke of Lorraine to try to calm the people of the town who had been assaulted by the duke. When Bernard returned to Clairvaux he became ill and died on August 20. He was canonized in 1174. In 1830 he was declared LL.D., a doctor of the church (SeeSaw : WD40). His feast day is August 20.
PS : Bloodstone, or heliotrope. A dark-green chalcedony (quartz) spotted with red jasper; also a moderate, light, or brilliant violet to moderate or deep reddish purple. Prized in the Middle Ages for carvings of martyrs, with the red flecks representing blood spots. Was called St. Stephen's Stone. Widely used in signet rings, cuff links, tiepins. Found in the Ural Mountains, India, and the western United States.

TOO LITTLE ~ TOO LATE
If one is to believe CNN, that nothing can be done to win the hearts and minds of Islam, then, its time that America should stop worrying about it and get on with winning the war against these assassins, the very same people who want and for a thousand years plan to destroy the West.
Let's take CNN at its word and get on with fighting the war until a winner is declared. The alternative is to wait for them to come and destroy us. 9/11 was just the beginning.

Corona Borealis is generally associated with the crown of Ariadne, daughter of King Minos of Crete. In one version of the story, Ariadne fell in love with Theseus and sailed away with him as his bride after he killed her half-brother, the Minotaur. He abandoned her on an island, where she was found by the god Dionysus. Dionysus married her and gave her a gem-encrusted crown as a wedding present. After her death, he flung the crown into the sky, where it became Corona Borealis.
The earliest known written account of this explanation of the origin of the constellation dates from the 6th century BC and is credited to the Greek philosopher Pherecydes. The Greek poet Aratus mentions Corona Borealis in his work 'Phaenomena', from the 3rd century BC. Ptolemy, the great astronomer who lived and worked in Egypt during the 2nd century AD, cataloged Corona Borealis. Ancient Arab astronomers regarded the constellation as a bowl or dish, calling it al-Fakkan, Arabic for 'bowl or cup.'
Since ancient times, Eridanus has been associated with a number of rivers, both real and mythical. The Greek poet Homer, who lived in the 9th century BC, referred to a great stream that flowed around the Earth. In other texts, Eridanus was associated with a fabled river in northwestern Europe. The 3rd-century-BC Greek astronomer Eratosthenes claimed that Eridanus represented the Nile. Eridanus has also been identified with the Euphrates, the Po River in Italy; the
Ebro in Spain; and the Rhine, Rhone, and Radaune rivers in Central Europe.
The name Ascella is derived from the Latin Axilla, which means the 'armpit [of the Centaur].' To the ancient Greeks, Ascella represented the armpit of the archer, Sagittarius. In the third century BC, the constellation was described by Eratosthenes as a satyr, a figure that was part human and part horse. Most often, the constellation was depicted as an ominous creature with a bow and arrow poised to shoot to the west, at Scorpius.
Lupus, in astronomy, an ancient constellation of the southern sky, located between the constellations Centaurus and Scorpius. Lupus has no extremely bright stars but is densely populated with stars of second and third magnitude. It is a constellation rich in double stars and multiple stars. A few open clusters and other deep-sky objects can be seen with binoculars within its boundaries; many more are visible with a more powerful telescope.
The name Lupus is Latin for 'wolf,' but the wolf appellation apparently did not become common until the Renaissance. The ancient Greeks and Romans figured the grouping as a wild animal of no specific type. Representations among the Mediterranean civilizations that recognized this grouping included a lioness, a leopard, a male horse, and a howling dog.
Auriga, in astronomy, a constellation of the Northern Hemisphere. Auriga, Latin for 'charioteer,' lies west of Perseus far north of the celestial equator--the
imaginary line formed by the projection of the Earth's equator onto the sky.
Auriga is a significant constellation, both for its astronomical objects and for its ancient and complex mythology. The constellation contains Capella, the sixth brightest star in the sky and one of the seven stars (along with Castor, Pollux, Procyon, Sirius, Rigel, and Aldebaran) that make up the large, bright ring of stars known as the winter circle.
In early January, Auriga reaches its highest point in the sky in the mid-northern latitudes at 10:00 PM. The pentagon-shaped constellation straddles the Milky Way almost directly overhead and lies northeast of Taurus, due north of Orion, and northwest of Gemini. From the mid-southern latitudes it appears very low on the northern horizon.
Auriga is often depicted as the torso of a charioteer holding a bridle and whip in his right hand and cradling Capella, or the 'she goat,' on his left arm. Two kids, the offspring of Capella, rest on his wrist or forearm. This representation can be traced back to early Babylonian times, 4000 BC to 3500 BC. In Greek and Roman mythology, Auriga is associated with several figures. The Romans called the constellation Erichthonius, their translation of the Greek equivalent. Erichthonius was a legendary king of Athens and son of Vulcan (Hephaestus), who invented the four-horse chariot and as a result became a favorite of Jupiter (Zeus).

urope, and the peninsula of Asia Minor, projecting westward from Asia. The sea connects with the Mediterranean through the Bosporus strait, the Sea of Marmara, and the Dardanelles strait. The area of the Black Sea (including a baylike arm, the Sea of Azov) is 162,280 square miles (420,300 square kilometers)--about one sixth the size of the Mediterranean.
Lying where Europe and Asia meet, the Black Sea has been important for 30 centuries. Early Greek navigators called the sea Pontus Axeinus (Inhospitable Sea). Later, in the 7th century BC, when they colonized its shores, they renamed it Pontus Euxinus (Hospitable Sea). The sea has always had a great influence on Russian foreign policies.
Vela, in astronomy, a constellation of the Southern Hemisphere bordered by Antlia, Pyxis, Puppis, Carina, and Centaurus. Vela is southeast of Puppis, west of Centaurus, and south of Pyxis and Antlia.
Of the nebulae in Vela, the Gum nebula (NGC 3132), a supernova remnant, is the most famous. It is a bright elliptical, planetary nebula with a ninth-magnitude central star and appears to have many rings. An explosion in this star system is believed to have occurred in about 9000 BC. The nebula can be found on the border with Antlia and extends through Puppis.

ABSTRACT:
Neoplatonism (Ecclesiastic FREEMASONRY) strongly influenced the development of Sufism. Neoplatonism, as developed by Plotinus conceives God to be the source and goal of everything. Islam qua institution is closed to all critical and philosophical thought, but Sufism enjoys a more liberal and critical approach. It is probable that the translations of Plotinus have provided the necessary philosophical ground for Sufism. An examination of both Sufism and Neoplatonism reveals close similarities with regard to the nature of God, the soul, the body, concepts such as goodness, evil and beauty, death and life, and creation.
Islamic thought was influenced by Greek philosophy, especially the ideas of Aristotle and Plato. Sufism is a sect of Islam which has rather a different way of thought. "Sufi" is applied to Muslim mystics who, as a means of achieving union with Allah, adopted ascetic practices including wearing a garment made of coarse wool called "sf". The term "sufism" comes from "sf", meaning the person who wears "sf" (wool apron). But in the course of time, sufi has come to designate all Muslim (cannon fodder) believers in mystic union.

In the roots of sufi philosophy there are influences other than neoplatonist philosophy. Ascetic practices within the sufi philosophy are associated w
ith Buddhism. The notion of purification (cleaning one' s soul from all evil things and trying to reach Nirvana and to become immortal in Nirvana) plays an important role in Buddhism. The same idea shows itself in the belief of "vuslat" (communion with God) in Sufi philosophy.
Sufism was also influenced by Orpheus and related beliefs, and consequently by Pythagoras and his teachings, because Pythagoras was closely interested in Orpheus beliefs. Orpheus was a poet who lived in Anatolia in the 6th and 7th centuries BC. He was believed to have divine characteristics such as being able to influence wild animals with his music. He believed that the human soul can reach the highest level only by refining itself from all passions and worldly possessions. Soul travels from body to body in order to purify itself from its sins, disabilities, and guilts, and only after passing all these levels can it reach to its highest level, to its exalted spot. Pythagoras adopted Orpheus beliefs about soul, and integrated it with his own ideas. Later, the Neopythagoreans regarded Pythagoras as the source of divinely revealed knowledge. They accepted as truth whatever appealed to them in the writings of Plato, Aristotle, and the Stoics
The attempts to construct a religious philosophy on the basis of Greek thought and especially the theories of Pythagoras culminated in Neoplatonism. Plotinus, the founder of Neoplatonism, took Plato's theory of ideas and reinterpreted them from Protagoras' point of view. According to neoplatonism, God is conceived as the source and goal of every
thing; from him everything comes, to him all things return; he is the alpha and omega, the beginning, middle and end. Communion with God or absorption in God, therefore, is the real purpose of all our strivings, and religion the heart-beat of the universe. The principal doctrine of Plotinus stated that there is just one exalted God, that is a supreme power, the final cause , the cosmic force. God is the highest spiritual, and creative Being.
Although the world proceeds from God, he did not create it; the universe is an emanation from God, an inevitable overflow of his infinite power or actuality. Plotinus employs several metaphors to suggest the meaning of emanation. God is a spring from which the spring flows without exhausting its infinite source; or, God is the sun from which the light radiates without loss to the sun. The absolute being (God) is higher than beauty, truth, goodness, consciousness, and will, for all these depend on him. The farther we are from the sun, the source of light, the nearer we are to darkness (matter). Beauty is in the structure of divine existence. Other types of existence such as matter and body are not beautiful in themselves, but rather they are beautiful as a reflection of God's beauty. Among all beings in the universe human beings are the closest to the divine essence because they have souls that strive to turn in the direction of pure thought. The truthfulness, beauty or goodness of a human being depend on its soul's actions within its body; the closer the soul of a human being gets to the source of light, the more it acquires
the qualities such as truth, goodness, and beauty. Human beings reflect the appearance of God in themselves more than other life forms, and consequently they are the highest in the scale of being.
There is no aspect of Sufi philosophy that is not influenced by neoplatonism. According to Sufi philosophy, Absolute being is also Absolute beauty, and since beauty tends toward manifestation, Absolute being developed the phenomenal world. Human beings in this phenomenal world are the only ones that share a unity of essence with God, because they have souls. After a human being dies, his/her soul goes back to its source, to the Absolute being, while his/her body dissolves and decays. Since the soul makes a human being a person, one should practice the quiestic virtues such as poverty, austerity, humility, fortitude, and discipline; devote oneself to the ways of inwardness such as withdrawal, silence, solitariness, and self-examination; and keep in mind a constant awareness of God with faith and desire. This way, one can achieve a sense of direct communion with God which is the Absolute being behind the phenomenal world. If one follows these directions with sufficient perseverance, one will advance through the standard mystic stages of concentration, appreciation of the oneness of everything, epiphanies, i.e., sudden and unpredictable illumination, blissful ecstasy, sense of union with the Deity, sense of one's own nothingness, and sense of the nothingness beyond nothingness.
Neoplatonism is the closest doctrine of thought to Sufi philosophy in terms of their
system of belief. Now, let's compare these two doctrines more closely and describe the similarities between them in detail.
In Sufism, the universe is just an appearance of God, and does not have an independent existence. To think of the universe and the God as being separate is to deny the "Oneness" and to suggest a "duality" between God and the universe. But in reality, the God and the universe are the "One" and the same thing such that God reflects himself as the universe. It is not possible to think of God and the universe as separate entities because God is not something outside the universe as Islam favors, but rather something within the universe. As seen above, this belief was initially suggested by neoplatonism. They both see the existence of the universe as an emanation from God.
Sufism assumes that there is a union of God, universe and humans, and that human beings are an appearance of God; but God's appearance in the shape of a human being cannot be thought of any further than just an appearance.The reality is not a duality between God and humans, but rather a sameness, oneness between them. A person is a talking, thinking, acting God. This idea is beatifully expressed in Yunus Emre's following verse:
I didn't know you were the eye inside of me
You were a secret essence both in body and soul
I asked you show me a symbol of you in this world
Suddenly I realized you were the whole universe.
This poem expresses the idea of the oneness of God-universe-human beings. It is possible that the belief of oneness o
f humans and God in sufism is carried from neoplatonism. In the trilogy of God-Universe-Humans, God has the highest position, second is the universe, and third is human beings. Even though humans rank last in the trilogy, they are very close to the God, and almost identical to him because of the soul they have.
Sufism and neoplatonism share the same beliefs about the soul. According to neoplatonism, the soul is a divine essence, a substance, the source of all existence. The soul is the effect, image, or copy of pure thought, namely God. It is immortal, infinite, and separate from the body. The body is a cage where the soul is trapped, and it can be freed when the body dies. The soul, by its nature, always tends toward perfection, beauty, goodness and exaltation. In sufism the soul is treated similarly, and expressed as a divine essence in humans.
The body, like soul, is also treated similarly in both sufism and neoplatonism. According to neoplatonism, the body is mortal, temporary, and not divine. The body tends not towards beauty and goodness, but towards ugliness and evil. What is beautiful, good, valuable and divine is not body, but the soul. The body tends towards temporary desires and wishes. The task of the soul is to purify the body from evil tendencies, and its deficiencies. The body is a cage for the soul. Sufism shares the same belief. The body is created from the earth, and will go back to the earth, and decay there. For this reason, the body is not important, and a person should not follow the desires of his/her body, but rather should turn
from sensuous life to thought, and through it, to God.
For neoplatonism beauty means much more than mere symmetry. It involves a close relationship to the ideal reality; it is an appearance of God over the objects of the universe. Whatever the divine light shines on becomes beautiful. Sufism thinks exactly the same about beauty. In sufism, beauty is expressed with "cemal" meaning human face, the beauty of human face. What is really expressed in "cemal" (human face) is the appearance of divine light in the face of a human. Neoplatonism identified beauty with divine essence, and sufism adopted the same idea. This is beautifully expressed in the following verse from Husrev:
Want to understand an example of the real essence of God
Look at the face of a beautiful woman and there see the face of God.
Realizing divine characteristics in human beauty might be an influence of neoplatonism in sufi philosophy.
Both neoplatonism and sufism believe that, just as beauty, goodness is also a divine virtue. Goodness is the most important among the characteristics that exalt a human being to the highest stage of being. Both in Islam, and in sufism, goodness as a divine virtue is associated with God's will. The belief that God will recompense good deeds in blessing to human beings is not something new or original in Islamic philosophy. Goodness was first formulated systematically as a philosophical problem in Plato. Goodness, honesty, bravery, wisdom, and virtue are the main topics of Etik in Plato's philosophy. Later Plotinos reconciled Plato
's philosophy with religion under the teachings of neoplatonism. Thus, the idea of goodness as a divine virtue in sufism is probably carried over from neoplatonism. In both of these doctrines, the more the soul purifies itself from temporary passions, wishes and desires, the more harmonious it becomes with goodness.
Both neoplatonism and sufism believe that death is a separation of body and soul. When a person dies, the soul as a divine essence does not die, and travels to another body while the body decomposes, decays and becomes earth again. Death is a dissociation of two entities, the soul and the body.
Sufism sees the creation as an emanation from God, as an "appearance" of God. This notion of creation is quite different from Orthodox Islamic belief of creation as coming to existence from nothing. According to this belief God created the universe, mankind, and all other living creatures from nothing but out of self-love. This belief is adopted by all monotheistic religions, such as Christianity, Judaism and Islam which assume the existence of only one God, and it probably first originated in the Old Testament. Sufism, like neoplatonism, explains creation in a pantheistic fashion.
Both sufism and neoplatonism claim that the soul can reach exaltation by passing through certain stages. First of all, the exaltation of the soul depends on purifying itself from passions, sensual desires and wishes. Secondly, the soul, because of its divine nature, is immortal and its tendency towards temporary beings can cause it to degenerate and deteriorate.
In order to prevent this, the soul must turn to itself, and try to understand its meaning. Thirdly, the soul can reach exaltation by knowing itself. The way to know thyself is through love. Love is the appearance of God, and by love one can achieve a special knowledge, knowledge of one's own self. Self-knowledge can be achieved through introspection. At the last stage, as a person knows oneself , and understands the essence of the soul, one realizes that one is identical with the universe and all other creatures, and that God is the only being showing itself in all creation. Hence, one frees oneself from dualism. This is the stage of unification of God, humans and the universe. At this stage, words, such as you, and I , which imply separation and differentiation, lose their meaning; there is only "One", and this "One" is a unification in the essence of God. This is the highest stage of exaltation for a person, and once one reaches this stage, one sees God in one's own self, and understands that God is the only being in the universe, and that one's self is nothing but God.
As seen above, there are close similarities between sufism and neoplatonism. How they came to interact is really a question of the social and cultural environment in which sufism flourished. As is well known, Islamic philosophy has its roots mostly in the works of Aristotle which were all translated into Arabic. Islamic philosophers interpreted Aristotle from an Islamic point of view, and established their theories on the basis of Aristotle's philosophy. Through the translations of the writings
of Plato and Plotinus, they also were introduced into the Anatolian culture and mingled with different ancient Anatolian beliefs, such as Orpheus. The mystic elements within neoplatonism, woven together with ancient Anatolian beliefs (eg, the sacredness of natural events such as the sun which is incorporated in sufism in the belief of God's resemblance to the sun), prepared the way for liberal interpetations of Islamic principles in sufi philosophy. Neoplatonism seems to be the most probable underlying philosophical system of thought for sufi philosophy.

One can always find someone in the media, or in religion, to point the finger at secret goings on and conspiracies formed by different departments of the government.
Yet, one hardly ever hears anyone in government blame the media or religion for the mess we're in. If they do, it is done by pointing to a single individual acting as a freelancer or by adding the word 'radical' in front of Islam.
Why is that?
To anyone with a functioning brain who has ever attended meetings of local Freemasons in any town around the world, it does not take long to notice how journalists and chaplains usually run the show.
Politicians owe their job to the Monk~Media and that is why you will never see them pointing the finger where it belongs when it comes to exposing conspiracy.
Every terrorist, or political conspiracy in the world is supported by Ecclesiastic Freemasonry, whether in Baghdad or in New York.
This is why it was so interesting to hear US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld tell the soldiers in Baghdad, on a live broadcast last week, one that could not be edited by the media, that he at least has stopped reading newspapers. And even more notable was hearing General Abisaid this morning, the top commander of the war in Iraq, telling the inquiry on prisoner abuse that one can't believe the perceptions being created about the lack of progress the military is making in

Maybe we will finally see fingers being pointed to where they always should have been, at the Monk~Media, whenever the topic of political conspiracy and assassination comes up.

John F. Lehman, 9/11 Investigation Commissioner
John Lehman is chairman of J.F. Lehman & Company, a private equity investment firm. He is also chairman of OAO Technology Solutions, director of Ball Corporation, Insurance Services Office, SDI Inc., Elgar Inc., and Racal Instruments, Inc., and a member of the Advisory Board of Paribas Affaires Industrielles. Lehman was formerly an investment banker with Paine Webber Inc. He was president of Abington Corporation between 1977 and 1981. He served 25 years in the naval reserve.
Lehman was appointed Secretary of the Navy by President Reagan in 1981 and served until 1987. During his tenure as Secretary of the Navy, Lehman was responsible for building a 600 ship Navy, establishing a strategy of maritime supremacy, and reforming ship and aircraft procurement. He has served as staff member to Henry Kissinger on the National Security Council, as delegate to the Force Reductions Negotiations in Vienna and as deputy director of the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency.
Lehman holds a B.S. from St. Joseph's University, a B.A. and M.A. from Cambridge University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently an Honorary Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University. Lehman is the author of numerous books, including Command of the Seas, Making War, and On Seas of Glory.
Lehman serves as Chairman of the Princess Grace Foundation USA, a director of OpSail Foundation, a member of the Board of Overseers of the School of Engineering
at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a trustee of LaSalle College High School.

Aquarius is an ancient constellation. It was described by the Greek poet Aratus of Soli in about the 3rd century BC. The astronomer Ptolemy of Alexandria, who flourished from AD 127 to 145, cataloged other data about Aquarius in his great star catalog, the 'Almagest'. Since ancient times the constellation has been depicted as a young man pouring water out of a jar or urn. To the ancient Greeks, Aquarius symbolized several mythological persons, including Ganymede, the cupbearer on Mount Olympus; Deucalion, the hero of the Thessalian flood; and Cecrops, an ancient king of Athens.
The water jar held in Aquarius' right hand, a small Y made up of mostly third- and fourth-magnitude stars, is the feature by which
the constellation is usually identified. A sprinkling of more than 30 faint stars makes up the water flowing from the jar. In Johann Bayer's illustrated catalog 'Uranometria', published in 1603, the water is shown flowing into the open mouth of Piscis Austrinus (the Southern Fish), and that is how it is often represented.
Aquarius was originally the tenth constellation of the zodiac. It is now variously listed as the 11th or 12th sign of the zodiac because of a phenomenon known as precession, the slow change of orientation of the Earth's axis with respect to the stars. The sun is in the astrological zodiacal sign from January 20 through February 18 each year; however, because of precession, it is actually in the astronomical constellation Aquarius from late February through early March. According to astrologers, approximately every 2,150 years Earth comes under the influence of a different sign of the zodiac. Presently in the astrological Age of Pisces, Earth is due to enter the Age of Aquarius next (some say as early as the 21st century).
M2, in astronomy, a bright, very large globular star cluster located in the constellation Aquarius (the Water Bearer), approximately five degrees north of the star Beta Aquarius. M2 is one of the brightest clusters in the sky and is easily observed with the unaided eye. It was first observed in 1746 by Maraldi. French astronomer Charles Messier, who listed it as the second object in his catalog, observed M2 in 1760. M2's New General Catalogue (NGC) number is 7089.
M22
, in astronomy, a bright, very large globular cluster located in the constellation Sagittarius, which is situated just below the celestial equator about 5 degrees north of Beta Aquarius. M22 lies just above the Sagittarius Milk Dipper, about 2.5 degrees northeast from Lambda Sagittarii. Considered to be one of the most beautiful of the globular star clusters, M22 is the third brightest and most easily resolvable globular cluster in the sky. M22 is easily observed in the northern sky despite its low altitude. Its appearance is especially impressive in the southern sky. The New General Catalogue (NGC) lists M22 as number 6656.
M22 was first seen by an obscure German astronomer, Abraham Ihle, in 1665. It was recorded by Halley in 1716 and by Le Gentil in 1747. Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille noted the object's comet-like appearance in 1752 and French astronomer Charles Messier described it in 1764 as a nebula without any stars. William Herschel was the first to realize that M22 was a star cluster; his son John Herschel later described some of its individual stars.

IOC Clears Transsexuals for Competition
LAUSANNE, Switzerland - Transsexuals were cleared Monday to compete in the Olympics for the first time. Under a proposal approved by the IOC (news - web sites ) executive board, athletes who have undergone sex-change surgery will be eligible for the Olympics if their new gender has been legally recognized and they have gone through a minimum two-year period of postoperative hormone therapy.
The decision, which covers both male-to-female and female-to-male cases, goes into effect starting with the Athens Olympics in August.
The IOC had put off a decision in February, saying more time was needed to consider all the medical issues.
Some members had been concerned whether male-to-female transsexuals would have physical advantages competing against women.
Men have higher levels of testosterone and greater muscle-to-fat ratio and heart and lung capacity. However, doctors say, testosterone levels and muscle mass drop after hormone therapy and sex-change surgery.
IOC spokeswoman Giselle Davies said the situation of transsexuals competing in high-level sports was "rare but becoming more common."
IOC medical director Patrick Schamasch said no specific sports had been singled out by the ruling.
"Any sport may be touched by this problem," he said. "Until now, we didn't have any rules or regulations. We needed to establish some sort of policy."
Until 1999, the IOC conducted gender verification tests at the Olympics but the screenings
were dropped before the 2000 Sydney Games (news - web sites).
One of the best known cases of transsexuals in sports involves Renee Richards, formerly Richard Raskind, who played on the women's tennis tour in the 1970s.
In March, Australia's Mianne Bagger became the first transsexual to play in a pro golf tournament.
Michelle Dumaresq, formerly Michael, has competed in mountain bike racing for Canada.

CNN and David Clinch CNN's Senior International Editor have always maintained a close relationship with the Pentagon. Getting access to top military officials is a necessity for a foreign controlled network that stakes its reputation on being first on the ground during wars and other military operations.
Strangely, in retrospect, an unofficial strategy paper published by the U.S. Naval War College in 1996 and written by an Army officer ('Military Operations in the CNN World: Using the Media as a Force Multiplier') urged military commanders to find ways to 'leverage the vast resources of the fourth estate' for the purposes of 'communicating the [mission's] objective and endstate, boosting friendly morale, executing more effective psychological operations, playing a major role in deception of the enemy, and enhancing intelligence collection.'
According to Intelligence Newsletter, rear admiral Thomas Steffens, a psychological warfare expert in the Special Operations Command, once told a PSYOPS conference that the military needed to find ways to 'gain control' over commercial news satellites to help bring down an 'informational cone of silence' over regions where special operations were taking place.
Yet what has in fact occured recently is that CNN appears to have taken control over the US military, by constantly throwing both General Myers the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Iraqi war and peace
off balance.
The US military is learning the hard lesson that they can't fight the war on terror overseas when the terrorist themselves own the 24/7 media at home and use it to fabricate false perceptions about the war in the minds of Americans.

A number of readers have recently questioned the reasoning behind my never using the word Jew in the context of defining a person's nationality or linguistic grouping within my postings.
These very observant readers, I presume, are referring either to Hebrews or Israelites.
My response is that it is for the same reason that I never describe any individual as being Muslim, marijuana, hashish, beer, Christian, or heroin.
To describe a person as a Jew, Catholic, Protestant, ZoroAstrian, Liberal, Republican, Conservative etc., is in my view simply to recognize what intoxicant the drunkard happens to be on at the time and not his or her nationality or language group.
All religion, like all politics, is an opiate of Freemasonry's ASSES (Talking Mules).

Thomas Ruggles Pynchon, Jr., was born in Glen Cove, Long Island, N.Y., on May 8, 1937. His parents, Thomas Ruggles Pynchon, Sr., and Katherine Frances Bennett Pynchon, raised him and his siblings, Judith and John, in East Norwich and then Oyster Bay. Thomas was a good student and graduated from high school in 1953 at the age of 16.
Pynchon attended Cornell University for two years and then left for service in the Navy. Returning to Cornell in 1957, he transferred from engineering into the College of Arts and Sciences, where he studied under Vladimir Nabokov. Pynchon published his first short stories, "The Small Rain" and "Mortality and Mercy in Vienna," in the spring of 1959. That June he received a bachelor's degree.
Pynchon began work on his first novel, 'V.', in New York City. He worked as an engineering aid for the Boeing Corporation in Seattle, Wash., from 1960 to 1962, during which time he published three more short stories: "Lowlands" (1960), "Entropy" (1960), and "Under the Rose" (1961). Adopted as the faith of the Persian kings, Zoroastrianism became the official religion of the Achaemenid empire and flourished under its successors, the Parthian and Sassanian empires. Its theology and cosmology have influenced the development of Greek, and later Jewish, Christian, and Muslim thought. The Muslim conquest of the 7th century AD marked the beginning of a public decline of Zoroastrianism. Persecution resulted in the migration (about the 10th century AD) of the majority of Zoroastrians to India, where the Parsis of Bombay are their modern descendants.
The religion of ancient Iran was derived from that of the ancient Indo- Europeans, or Aryans. The language of the earliest Zoroastrian writings is close to that of the Indian Vedas, and much of the mythology is recognizably the same. Two groups of gods were worshiped, the ahuras and the daevas. The worship of the ahuras (lords) reflected the practice of the pastoral upper classes, and tradition holds that Zoroaster was born into a family that
ped only the ahuras. The message of the prophet, however, was that Ahura Mazda, the Wise Lord, was the sole creator and lord of the world and that the worship of the daevas was the worship of evil. In Zoroaster's theology the Amesha Spentas, or Bountiful Immortals, were divine beings who acted essentially as agents of the power of Ahura Mazda; as with Semites they were traditionally seven in number: Bounteous Spirit, Good Mind, Truth, Rightmindedness, Dominion, Health, and Life.
The first of these, Spenta Mainyu, is of special importance in that he is paired with a 'twin,' Angra Mainyu, or Hostile Spirit. When given a choice between good and evil, or truth and the lie, Bounteous Spirit chose truth and Hostile Spirit the lie. Creation becomes a battleground, with the demoted ahuras invoked for the doing of good and the daevas enlisted by Angra Mainyu in the doing of evil. Nevertheless, Ahura Mazda has decreed that truth will triumph, and the old world will be destroyed by fire and a new creation instituted (Ubermensch).
In the period following Zoroaster, for which little evidence remains, Zoroastrianism consolidated its position and spread throughout Iran. The rise of the southern Persians and Medes seems to have been accompanied by the reinstatement of many of the ahuras, although Ahura Mazda is still recognized as supreme god. Among the most important figures to revive at this time were Mithra (see Mithraism), usually associated with the sun, and Anahita, associated with the waters and fertility. Ahura Mazda (who becomes Ormazd) becomes identified wi
th Spenta Mainyu, and Angra Mainyu (Ahriman) remains his antagonist. Ahura Mazda (Persia) has relinquished some of his absolute supremacy and appears to need the assistance of the lesser ahuras, particularly Mithra (Egypt), who appears as mediator and protector of the created world.
This dualist view eventually became the orthodox position. Its development may have owed much to the magi, a hereditary priestly caste, although their role is unclear. From them, however, the Greco-Roman world learned much of what it knew of the religion. An important reform movement, however, arose within Zoroastrianism--the movement around Zurvan. The Zurvanites posited a supreme god, Zurvan (Infinite Time), who had sacrificed for 1,000 years in order to gain offspring. At the end of that time he experienced momentary doubt, and from that doubt arose Ahriman; at the same time, Ormazd came into being because of the efficacy of the sacrifices. At the end of 3,000 years Ahriman crossed the void that separated them and attacked Ormazd.
The two made a pact to limit the struggle, and Ahriman fell back into the abyss, where he lay for 3,000 years. During that period Ormazd created the material and spiritual world; in retaliation, Ahriman called into being six demons and an opposing material world. In the next 3,000-year period Ahriman attempted to corrupt the creation of Ormazd; he was successful but was trapped in the world of light. The final period of 3,000 years was ushered in by the birth of Zoroaster, who revealed this struggle to humanity; the prophet is
to be followed by three saviors, appearing at intervals of 1,000 years. At the appearance of the last, a day of judgment will occur, the drink of immortality will be offered to those who have fought against Ahriman, and a new creation will be established.
The sacred literature of Zoroastrianism is found in the Avesta, which was compiled sometime during the Sassanian period (224-640 AD) from much earlier materials. Only a portion of the Avesta remains, but the language of its earliest sections is extremely ancient, closely related to that of the Indian Vedas. These sections, the Gathas, are thought to be by Zoroaster himself. They are hymns and form the primary part of the Yasna, the central liturgy of the religion. Also contained in the Avesta are the Yashts, hymns to a number of the ahuras, and later in date than the Gathas. Finally comes the Videvdat, which is concerned with purity and ritual. A large body of commentary exists in Pahlavi, dating from the 9th century AD, which contains quotations from earlier material no longer extant.
The rituals of Zoroastrianism revolve around devotion to the good and the battle against the forces of evil. Fire plays a major role, being seen as the manifestation of the truth of Ahura Mazda, as preached by Zoroaster. Also important is the ritual drink, haoma, which is related to the Vedic soma.
Parsis
The Parsis are descendants of Zoroastrians who fled from Persia to India in order to escape Muslim persecution in the 10th century. They established communities in Bombay and its environs and numb
ered about 130,000 in 1994. The Parsis have retained almost unchanged the beliefs and customs of their ancestors. They observe the prohibitions against the contamination of the sacred elements of fire, water, and earth; their lives are governed by rituals and sacrifice that deal with every aspect of life from birth to death; and they practice the stringent precepts of morality laid down by Zoroaster. Death is regarded as the ultimate impurity, and Parsis refuse to defile the earth with burial; instead, the body is exposed within a circular, unroofed tower (dakhma), where it is devoured by vultures.
The Parsis are a closed community and permit neither intermarriage nor proselytization by other faiths. They are noted for their wealth and generosity; they have founded many hospitals, orphanages, and schools.
Aryan
Aryan is a term formerly used to denote both a linguistic and an assumed racial category related to the language family now known as Indo-European. Early scholars, struck by similarities among ancient Indian languages such as Sanskrit and ancient European languages such as Latin and Greek, hypothesized the existence not only of a proto-Indo-European language but also of a proto-Indo-European racial group, the Aryans. This group, it was argued, had spread into South Asia and Europe from a Central Asian homeland in a series of migrations during the 2d millennium BC. Thus it was argued that, in contrast to the darker-skinned Dravidians of southern India, the northern Indians were, racially speaking, Aryans, sharing a common descent with
the peoples of Western Europe.
Today, such arguments about racial origins are usually seen as little more than speculation. The term Aryan is now used to designate the Indo-Iranian languages, or more narrowly, the Indo-Aryan (Indic) branch of that family. It was among the Aryan-speaking peoples of northern India during the 2d and 1st millennia BC that the religion of Hinduism and the institutions of caste first developed.
Mithraism
Mithraism, the worship of the ancient Indo-Iranian god of light, Mithra, became early Christianity's most serious rival as the mystery cult rapidly spread from Syria and Anatolia throughout the Roman Empire, reaching into Gaul and Britain. Its Freemasonry origins remain obscure. Although the focus of the cult was the Persian god Mithra who is the chief ally of Ahura Mazda, the force of good in later Zoroastrianism Western worship of Mithra had few connections with Zoroastrianism apart from its emphasis on the eternal struggle between good and evil. There were seven grades of initiation into the cult, completion of which conferred immortality. Most important was the slaying of the bull (see Wall Street), a reenactment of Mithra's killing of the cosmic bull of creation, symbolizing the conquest of evil and death. Astrology and Sun worship also played a role in Mithraism.
Introduced into the West in the 1st century AD by Roman soldiers who had fought against the Parthians, the cult remained particularly popular among the military the god embodied such soldierly values as victory, courage, and loyalty and m
erchant classes. Women were excluded from the cult. One of the most powerful religious movements in the Roman Empire by the 4th century, Mithraism suffered persecution after Christianity became dominant, and it gradually disappeared from public view. Significantly, Mithra's birth was commemorated on December 25.
Magi
The Magi (singular: Magus) were the priestly hierarchy of ancient Zoroastrianism. The name was originally that of the tribe to which they belonged. Like the Brahmans of India, the Magi were keepers of the cult and of sacrificial power and exercised considerable political power while Zoroastrianism was the state religion of Persia.
In the Hellenistic world the name magi was applied to Eastern astrologers and interpreters of dreams, men considered 'wise in the things of God.' (Hence the derivation of the word magic.) It is in this sense that the name came to be applied to the 'wise men from the East' who reportedly followed the star to Bethlehem to worship the infant Jesus, presenting him with gifts of frankincense, gold, and myrrh (Matt. 2). Later tradition called them kings and named them Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthazar. The Christian church honors them as the first Gentiles to believe in Christ and celebrates their visit by the feast of Epiphany.
Haoma / Soma (SEE: Somalia)
The Vedas (the sacred writings of ancient India) contain numerous references to a plant called Soma, and to a drink (also called Soma) made from the plant that was used for ritual purposes. The Soma plant has never been
certainly identified, but it is thought to be the same as the haoma used as a ritual drink by the ancient Zoroastrians. Soma was also the name of a god in the Vedic pantheon.
Vedic priests crushed the stalks of the plant to obtain a liquid, which was then mixed with water or milk; some of it was poured on the sacrificial fire, and the rest was consumed by the worshipers. Soma had an intoxicating and even hallucinogenic effect and was believed to confer health and immortality on the drinker. The gods, too, were said to enjoy the potent beverage, especially the war god Indra, whose power was derived from it. According to the Rig Veda, it was Indra, in the form of a falcon, who brought the Soma plant from heaven to Earth.
Indra
In the Vedic religion of ancient India, Indra was the god of war and thunder. He was originally the chief deity of the Indo-Aryan pantheon; more than one-quarter of the hymns in the Hindu religious classic, the Rig Veda, are supplications to Indra. He is described as a great drinker of Soma, an intoxicating liquid much used in Vedic ritual, and was believed to have brought the soma plant from heaven to Earth. Indra is also associated with cattle; one of the principal myths of the Rig Veda tells of how he freed a herd of cows (symbols of life and fertility) that were penned up in a cave. He is also known as the slayer of the drought demon Vrita. Aided by his companions, the Maruts (storm gods), Indra led the Aryan invaders to victory in their conquest of India. In later Hindu tradition his importance declined.
Hazara
The Hazara are a people of Mongol descent living primarily in mountainous central Afghanistan. There are smaller communities of Hazara in Iran and Pakistan. In the mid-1990s, the Hazara numbered an estimated 2 million. They are known to have entered Afghanistan between 1229 and 1447.
The Eastern Hazara speak a Persian dialect with many Turkic and Mongol words and are primarily Shiite Muslims. Traditionally, they are sedentary farmers who raise sheep and grow wheat, barley, peas, and beans on irrigated fields in the narrow mountain valleys. Their fortified villages consist of flat-roofed houses of stone or mud encircling a central courtyard. The Western Hazara minority are Sunni Muslims who speak Persian dialects; most are nomadic or seminomadic herders. The traditional Hazara way of life was disrupted by the Soviet occupation and subsequent civil war.
SHIITES
The Shiites (a name derived from the Arabic shiat Ali, 'the party of Ali') constitute one of the two major branches of Islam, the other, larger branch being the Sunnites. Following the death of Muhammad, disagreement arose as to the necessary qualifications and exact function of his successors as leaders (IMAMS) of the Muslim community. The Shiites are those who insisted that only members of the Prophet's clan, specifically, the descendants of Muhammad's daughter Fatima and her husband Ali, could qualify. Although Ali became (655) the fourth caliph, he was murdered in 661, and the majority recognized the Umayyad Muawiya I as caliph. The Shiites, however, supported the
claims of Ali's sons: Hasan, who died mysteriously c.669, and Husayn, who was killed by Umayyad troops at Kerbala in 680 (Kerbala, in Iraq, became the major pilgrimage center for the Shiites).
Shiism has three major subdivisions as well as numerous offshoots. The majority are called Twelvers (Ithna Ashariyya), because they recognize 12 imams, beginning with Ali; the 12th disappeared in 873 but will return as the mahdi (messiah). Twelver Shiism became the state religion of Persia (Iran) under the Safavid dynasty in the 16th century; it retains that position in the present-day Islamic republic of Iran. Twelvers also constitute about 60 percent of the population of Iraq and have sizable communities in Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, and India. A rebellion by the strongly Twelver population of southern Iraq was brutally suppressed by the Sunnite regime of Saddam Hussein in the wake of the Persian Gulf War of 1991. The other two major subdivisions are the Ismailis (Seveners) and the Zaidi (Zaydites, or Fivers). The Ismailis established the powerful Fatimid dynasty in the 10th century; the Nizari Ismailis, known in medieval times as Assassins, survive today in India and Pakistan under their imam, the Aga Khan. The Zaidi are concentrated in the northern mountains of Yemen.
Shiism emphasizes the spiritual function of the Prophet's successor, the imam, in whom the Prophetic Light is ever present in this world. He is believed to be divinely protected against sin and error and to have an infallible understanding of the Koran, a supernatural knowledge of future events,
and intercessory powers.
SUNNITES
The term Sunnites refers to the great majority of the world's Muslims, distinguishing them as the ahl al-sunna wal-jamaa ( 'the people of the sunna and the community' ) from the Shiites. Sunnites are, by this definition, Muslims who strictly follow the sunna (practices) of the Prophet Muhammad and preserve the unity and integrity of the community. Anyone who stands within the mainstream of the Islamic tradition and acts in accordance with generally accepted practices of the community is, therefore, a Sunni. Most Muslims see the sunna as complementary to the Koran insofar as it explains certain points and elaborates some Koranic principles by offering details necessary for the practice of Islamic law.
SUFISM
The word Sufism, which is probably derived from the Arabic suf ('wool'; hence sufi, 'a person wearing an ascetic's woolen garment'), denotes Islamic mysticism. Although outside movements have had some influence on Sufi terminology, Sufism is definitely rooted in Islam itself. Its development began in the late 7th and 8th centuries when worldliness and loose morals in ruling Umayyad circles evoked a strong reaction among certain pious persons. Individuals such as Hasan of Basra (d. 728) urged the Muslim community to heed the Koranic call to fear God, its warnings for Judgment Day, and its reminders of the transitoriness of life in this world. A new emphasis on the love of God brought the transition from asceticism to mysticism. The (woman?) saint Rabia of Basra (d. 801) ca
lled for love of God 'for his own sake,' not out of fear of hell or hope for heaven.
Sufism was early criticized by those who feared that the Sufis' concern for personal experiential knowledge of God could lead to neglect of established religious observances and that the Sufis' ideal of unity with God was a denial of the Islamic principle of the 'otherness' of God. The execution (922) of al Hallaj, who claimed mystical communion with God, is related to this second issue, and in later centuries some Sufis did indeed move to a theosophical monism (for example, Ibn Arabi, d. 1240; and Jili, d. c.1428). By combining a traditional theological position with a moderate form of Sufism, al Ghazali made mysticism widely acceptable in the Muslim world.
Sufism exercised a tremendous influence, partly through mystical poetry, for example, that of Jalal al Din al Rumi, and partly through the formation of religious brotherhoods. The latter grew out of the practice of disciples' studying under a mystical guide (pir, or 'saint') to achieve direct communion with God. Some of the brotherhoods (turuq; singular, tariqa, 'way') had a significant missionary impact.
DERVISH
In Islam, a dervish is a member of one of the many religious brotherhoods associated with Sufism. Dervish (or darwish) is a Persian word meaning a mendicant, equivalent to the Arabic fakir. Some Sufi fraternities advocate mystical practices that include ecstatic and hypnotic rituals of singing and dancing. Extreme forms of mysticism pervade some orders, notably the ho
wling dervishes and the whirling dervishes. The fraternities generally are headed by a sheikh who claims to possess esoteric knowledge. A silsila, or 'chain,' is thought to bind a novice, through his immediate teacher and a series of 'saints' (NATSIS), to Muhammad himself.

STOP THE BEARSCHIT
The time has come for broadcast licenses to be issued to a group of people who simply want to operate 24/7 news channels that report the news rather than fabricate perceptions.
Nowhere today can someone turn on a TV or radio in North America and get unbiased, unslanted news, reported by reporters renowned for their ability to gather and report the news rather than for their use of imagery and body language for the purpose of transmitting their bosses political biases.
Politics, religion, booze, drugs or other forms of intoxicants don't belong within the body of newscasts, oozing from the mouths of braindead Talking Heads.
Also, because little in the way of personal opinion exists any longer, just the parrotting of Media Type opinions expressed on TV, radio and in so-called newspapers, all polling said to reflect 'public opinion' should also be illegal in news broadcasts and be relegated to the fiction channels or the worldwide net.
Let us relegate personal opinion, as it is with this site, to a one-on-one basis for those who choose it and not be part of a mass brainwashing system whose purpose is to fabricate more 'slaves on auto-pilot who do their own shopping and give their lives away freely to men who wear dresses in public'.
PS: I am not suggesting that journalists are told what to say on a day-to-day basis; but I am saying that media bosses hire political or religious prostitutes of like m
themselves, who will not need to be told what to say, or how to act, on a minute-to-minute basis, and yet are tamed sufficiently by their schooling to know what to say in order to please their bosses without being told.

BAD THINGS MUST END IN IRAQ
For the abuse of the Iraqi prisoners in Iraq the prison where it happened should be demolished as a visible symbol that such activity by Americans will not be tolerated any longer.
Likewise, for teaching Iraqis that murdering Americans, dissecting their bodies and hanging the remains from a bridge is OK, the Imam Ali Mosque in an Najaf should suffer the same fate and be levelled to the ground.
Also, both groups who participated in these crimes, or made these crimes possible, should be brought to Justice.
Finally, now that President Bush has said he was sorry a number of times on CNN isn't it also time for Shi'ite Grand Ayatollah Ali al SISTANI to also apologize to Americans, on Al Jazeera TV, for these murders by Iraqis.

TRANSUBSTANTIATION
The problem that arises when having to fight a war to defend your own country from its planned extinction, at a time when your own country is infested with enemy Trojan Horses and Talking Mules, is becoming more and more evident to thinking Americans and to others throughout the world.
The enemy of the USA in the war to destroy America is Persian in its origin.
SEESAW :
Persians formed the CRADLE of civilization in Iraq (Mespotamia, Sumer and Babylon).
Iraq also converted the Persian Magi religion, first into the Miz cult of Egypt and later into the occult Mis pi ritual ZoroAstrianism of Macedonia and Frankish Germany (Abraham to Constantine)
Frankish ZoroAstrianism (Judeo-Christianity) eventually established itself throughout Europe as the dualism which is known today as The Holy Roman Empire and its secret 'antipode', the so-called FREE PRESS (Bards, Towne Criers, Reporters, and finally, Journalists).

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE. One of the most highly respected newspapers published in the United States is the Christian Science Monitor. Yet many of its readers are probably unaware of the beliefs and history of the denomination that publishes it. Christian Science was founded in 1879 by Mary Baker Eddy. The complete statement of its teachings can be found in her book 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures', first issued in 1875 and repeatedly revised over the next 35 years.
Mother Church. Mrs. Eddy gave the denomination its present institutional form. She established the Mother Church, the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston in 1892. Her organizational 'Manual of the Mother Church' was published in 1895. The church is governed by a board of trustees, though its branches around the world are self-governing within the framework she set forth in the manual. There are about 3,000 branches in 57 countries, though most are in the United States.
Christian Science accepts many of the basic doctrines of Christianity, including belief in one God, the authority of the Bible, and the life and ministry of Jesus (see Christianity). It departs from traditional Christianity in regarding Jesus primarily as an example of the divine sonship of God that is
t in all humanity.
It also denies that the world of matter is created by God. Matter is viewed instead as a perception. Reality--life, will, and mind--is spiritual. Hence the illnesses and misfortunes of the flesh are problems that are related only to the material aspect of life. Christian redemption is a rebirth out of the physical into the spiritual, from the material into the real. This is a lifelong process: Mrs. Eddy wrote that 'We must have trials and self-denials, as well as joys and victories, until all error is destroyed.'
Healing ministry. Christian Science has a full-time healing ministry engaged in by people called practitioners. The curing of disease through prayer is regarded as a necessary element in salvation. Followers are not, however, compelled by the church to use spiritual healing, but most members probably do. Many go to dentists and physicians who treat problems of the eye and for such procedures as setting bones or delivering babies.
Christian Science congregations sponsor reading rooms for study of the Bible and 'Science and Health'. Lessons from these sources are also the basis of worship services. Wednesday evening meetings may include the testimonial sharing of healing experiences by members of the denomination.
Old Church Slavonic : The 'Third Rome'
In the 15th century two major events influenced the direction of the development of Russia. The first was the centralization of political and cultural power in the Moscovite state. This resulted in the eventual f
reeing of Russia from the Tatars. It also resulted in the bringing together of all the literary efforts of all the peoples of the spreading Russian empire into one great literature.
The second event was the invasion of Byzantium by the Turks, which reportedly culminated in the fall of Constantinople (the 'Second Rome') in 1453. This led the Russians to believe that Moscow was selected by God to be the 'Third Rome.'
By the 17th century Russia came into closer contact with the West, absorbed Western trends, and opened its first theater. In the 18th century it produced its first great literary figure, Mikhail Lomonosov. Born to simple fisherfolk, Lomonosov became highly educated in almost every field of art and science. In 1755, under his direction, the first Russian university in Moscow was formed. He also worked out a happy combination of the Old Church Slavonic language with the popular spoken tongue of Russia.
