Unintended Consequences are Just Around the Corner The "Red Death" had long devastated the country. No pestilence had ever been so fatal, or so hideous. Blood was its Avatar and its seal - the redness and horror of blood. There were sharp pains, and sudden dizziness, and then profuse bleeding at the pores, with dissolution. The scarlet stains upon the body, and especially upon the face of the victim, were the best ban which shut him out from the aid and from the sympathy of his fellow-men. And the whole seizure, progress, and termination of the disease were the incidents of half an hour. But the Prince Prospero was happy and dauntless and sagacious. When his dominions were half depopulated, he summoned to his presence a thousand hale and light-hearted friends from among the knights and dames of his court, and with these retired to the deep seclusion of one of his castellated abbeys. This was an extensive and magnificent structure, the creation of the prince's own eccentric yet august taste. A strong and lofty wall girdled it in. This wall had gates of iron. The courtiers, having entered, brought furnaces and massy hammers and welded the bolts. They resolved to leave means neither of ingress or egress to the sudden impulses of despair or of frenzy from within. The abbey was amply provisioned. With such precautions the courtiers might bid defiance to contagion. The external world could take care of itself. In the meantime it was folly to grieve, or to think. The prince had provided all the appliances of pleasure. There were buffoons, there were improvisatori, there were ballet-dancers, there were musicians, there was Beauty, there was wine. All these and security were within. Without was the "Red Death." It was toward the close of the fifth or sixth month of his seclusion, and while the pestilence raged most furiously abroad, that the Prince Prospero entertained his thousand friends at a masked ball of the most unusual magnificence. It was a voluptuous scene, that masquerade. But first let me tell of the rooms in which it was held. There were seven -- an imperial suite. In many palaces, however, such suites form a long and straight vista, while the folding doors slide back nearly to the walls on either hand, so that the view of the whole extent is scarcely impeded. Here the case was very different; as might have been expected from the duke's love of the bizarre. The apartments were so irregularly disposed that the vision embraced but little more than one at a time. There was a sharp turn at every twenty or thirty yards, and at each turn a novel effect. To the right and left, in the middle of each wall, a tall and narrow Gothic window looked out upon a closed corridor which pursued the windings of the suite. These windows were of stained glass whose color varied in accordance with the prevailing hue of the decorations of the chamber into which it opened. That at the eastern extremity was hung, for example, in blue -- and vividly blue were its windows. The second chamber was purple in its ornaments and tapestries, and here the panes were purple. The third was green throughout, and so were the casements. The fourth was furnished and lighted with orange -- the fifth with white -- the sixth with violet. The seventh apartment was closely shrouded in black velvet tapestries that hung all over the ceiling and down the walls, falling in heavy folds upon a carpet of the same material and hue. But in this chamber only, the color of the windows failed to correspond with the decorations. The panes here were scarlet -- a deep blood color. Now in no one of the seven apartments was there any lamp or candelabrum, amid the profusion of golden ornaments that lay scattered to and fro or depended from the roof. There was no light of any kind emanating from lamp or candle within the suite of chambers. But in the corridors that followed the suite, there stood, opposite to each window, a heavy tripod, bearing a brazier of fire that protected its rays through the tinted glass and so glaringly illumined the room. And thus were produced a multitude of gaudy and fantastic appearances. But in the western or black chamber the effect of the fire-light that streamed upon the dark hangings through the blood-tinted panes, was ghastly in the extreme, and produced so wild a look upon the countenances of those who entered, that there were few of the company bold enough to set foot within its precincts at all. It was in this apartment, also, that there stood against the western wall, a gigantic clock of ebony. Its pendulum swung to and fro with a dull, heavy, monotonous clang; and when the minute-hand made the circuit of the face, and the hour was to be stricken, there came from the brazen lungs of the clock a sound which was clear and loud and deep and exceedingly musical, but of so peculiar a note and emphasis that, at each lapse of an hour, the musicians of the orchestra were constrained to pause, momentarily, in their performance, to hearken to the sound; and thus the waltzers perforce ceased their evolutions; and there was a brief disconcert of the whole gay company; and, while the chimes of the clock yet rang, it was observed that the giddiest grew pale, and the more aged and sedate passed their hands over their brows as if in confused reverie or meditation. But when the echoes had fully ceased, a light laughter at once pervaded the assembly; the musicians looked at each other and smiled as if at their own nervousness and folly, and made whispering vows, each to the other, that the next chiming of the clock should produce in them no similar emotion; and then, after the lapse of sixty minutes, (which embrace three thousand and six hundred seconds of the Time that flies,) there came yet another chiming of the clock, and then were the same disconcert and tremulousness and meditation as before. But, in spite of these things, it was a gay and magnificent revel. The tastes of the duke were peculiar. He had a fine eye for colors and effects. He disregarded the decora of mere fashion. His plans were bold and fiery, and his conceptions glowed with barbaric lustre. There are some who would have thought him mad. His followers felt that he was not. It was necessary to hear and see and touch him to be sure that he was not. He had directed, in great part, the moveable embellishments of the seven chambers, upon occasion of this great fete; and it was his own guiding taste which had given character to the masqueraders. Be sure they were grotesque. There were much glare and glitter and piquancy and phantasm -- much of what has been since seen in "Hernani." There were arabesque figures with unsuited limbs and appointments. There were delirious fancies such as the madman fashions. There was much of the beautiful, much of the wanton, much of the bizarre, something of the terrible, and not a little of that which might have excited disgust. To and fro in the seven chambers there stalked, in fact, a multitude of dreams. And these -- the dreams -- writhed in and about, taking hue from the rooms, and causing the wild music of the orchestra to seem as the echo of their steps. And, anon, there strikes the ebony clock which stands in the hall of the velvet. And then, for a moment, all is still, and all is silent save the voice of the clock. The dreams are stiff-frozen as they stand. But the echoes of the chime die away -- they have endured but an instant -- and a light, half- subdued laughter floats after them as they depart. And now again the music swells, and the dreams live, and writhe to and fro more merrily than ever, taking hue from the many-tinted windows through which stream the rays from the tripods. But to the chamber which lies most westwardly of the seven, there are now none of the maskers who venture; for the night is waning away; and there flows a ruddier light through the blood-colored panes; and the blackness of the sable drapery appals; and to him whose foot falls upon the sable carpet, there comes from the near clock of ebony a muffled peal more solemnly emphatic than any which reaches their ears who indulge in the more remote gaieties of the other apartments. But these other apartments were densely crowded, and in them beat feverishly the heart of life. And the revel went whirlingly on, until at length there commenced the sounding of midnight upon the clock. And then the music ceased, as | have told; and the evolutions of the waltzers were quieted; and there was an uneasy cessation of all things as before. But now there were twelve strokes to be sounded by the bell of the clock; and thus it happened, perhaps, that more of thought crept, with more of time, into the meditations of the thoughtful among those who revelled. And thus, too, it happened, perhaps, that before the last echoes of the last chime had utterly sunk into silence, there were many individuals in the crowd who had found leisure to become aware of the presence of a masked figure which had arrested the attention of no single individual before. And the rumor of this new presence having spread itself whisperingly around, there arose at length from the whole company a buzz, or murmur, expressive of disapprobation and surprise -- then, finally, of terror, of horror, and of disgust. In an assembly of phantasms such as | have painted, it may well be supposed that no ordinary appearance could have excited such sensation. In truth the masquerade license of the night was nearly unlimited; but the figure in question had out-Heroded Herod, and gone beyond the bounds of even the prince's indefinite decorum. There are chords in the hearts of the most reckless which cannot be touched without emotion. Even with the utterly lost, to whom life and death are equally jests, there are matters of which no jest can be made. The whole company, indeed, seemed now deeply to feel that in the costume and bearing of the stranger neither wit nor propriety existed. The figure was tall and gaunt, and shrouded from head to foot in the habiliments of the grave. The mask which concealed the visage was made so nearly to resemble the countenance of a stiffened corpse that the closest scrutiny must have had difficulty in detecting the cheat. And yet all this might have been endured, if not approved, by the mad revellers around. But the mummer had gone so far as to assume the type of the Red Death. His vesture was dabbled in blood -- and his broad brow, with all the features of the face, was besprinkled with the scarlet horror. When the eyes of Prince Prospero fell upon this spectral image (which with a slow and solemn movement, as if more fully to sustain its role, stalked to and fro among the waltzers) he was seen to be convulsed, in the first moment with a strong shudder either of terror or distaste; but, in the next, his brow reddened with rage. “Who dares?” he demanded hoarsely of the courtiers who stood near him -- “who dares insult us with this blasphemous mockery? Seize him and unmask him -- that we may know whom we have to hang at sunrise, from the battlements!" It was in the eastern or blue chamber in which stood the Prince Prospero as he uttered these words. They rang throughout the seven rooms loudly and clearly -- for the prince was a bold and robust man, and the music had become hushed at the waving of his hand. It was in the blue room where stood the prince, with a group of pale courtiers by his side. At first, as he spoke, there was a slight rushing movement of this group in the direction of the intruder, who at the moment was also near at hand, and now, with deliberate and stately step, made closer approach to the speaker. But from a certain nameless awe with which the mad assumptions of the mummer had inspired the whole party, there were found none who put forth hand to seize him; so that, unimpeded, he passed within a yard of the prince's person; and, while the vast assembly, as if with one impulse, shrank from the centres of the rooms to the walls, he made his way uninterruptedly, but with the same solemn and measured step which had distinguished him from the first, through the blue chamber to the purple -- through the purple to the green -- through the green to the orange -- through this again to the white -- and even thence to the violet, ere a decided movement had been made to arrest him. It was then, however, that the Prince Prospero, maddening with rage and the shame of his own momentary cowardice, rushed hurriedly through the six chambers, while none followed him on account of a deadly terror that had seized upon all. He bore aloft a drawn dagger, and had approached, in rapid impetuosity, to within three or four feet of the retreating figure, when the latter, having attained the extremity of the velvet apartment, turned suddenly and confronted his pursuer. There was a sharp cry -- and the dagger dropped gleaming upon the sable carpet, upon which, instantly afterwards, fell prostrate in death the Prince Prospero. Then, summoning the wild courage of despair, a throng of the revellers at once threw themselves into the black apartment, and, seizing the mummer, whose tall figure stood erect and motionless within the shadow of the ebony clock, gasped in unutterable horror at finding the grave-cerements and corpse-like mask which they handled with so violent a rudeness, untenanted by any tangible form. And now was acknowledged the presence of the Red Death. He had come like a thief in the night. And one by one dropped the revellers in the blood-bedewed halls of their revel, and died each in the despairing posture of his fall. And the life of the ebony clock went out with that of the last of the gay. And the flames of the tripods expired. And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all. The organization “Lebensborn e.V (eingetragner Verein, “registered association”) was the vehicle used to propagate and di i the genetic makeup of what Nazi authorities believed would constitute perfect future SS leaders. These children were conceived as future leaders in the Nazi state that would dominate Europe, if not the world ( from Canada). The Lebensborn Program was originally part of Rasse und Siedlungshauptamt (Race and Settlement Office). The office was headed by Walther Darre (born Ricardo Walther Oscar Darre, July 14, 1895), an SS-Obergruppenfuhrer and one of the leading Nazi “blood and soil” (German: Blut und Boden) ideologists. He served as Reich Minister of Food and Agriculture from 1933 to 1942. Darre was born in Belgrano, a Buenos Aires neighborhood, in Argentina to Richard Oscar Darre, a German with Huguenot ancestry (born March 10, 1854, Berlin) and a half Swedish/half German Emilia Berta Eleonore, nee Lagergren (born July 23, 1872), Buenos Aires. His father moved to Argentina in 1888 as a partner of the German international import/export wholesaler Engelbert Hardt & Co. Darre was educated privately in Argentina until the family was forced to return to Germany as a result of worsening international relations in the years preceding WWI. Darre was fluent in 4 languages: Spanish, German, English, and French. Darre was sent to Germany to attend school in Heidelburg at age 9; and in 1911 he was sent as an exchange student to King’s College School in Wimbledon. He then spent 2 years at the Oberrealschule in G bach, followed in early 1914 by the Kolonialschule for resettlement in the German colonies at Witzenhausen where his interest in farming was awakened. By age 34 he had completed his PhD studies in 1929 in agriculture, with a specialty in animal breeding. During these years he spent time working in east Prussia and Finland. As a young man in Germany, he joined the Artamans society, a Volkisch youth group committed to the back-to-land movement. During this time he began to develop the idea that the future of the “Nordic race” was linked to the soil in what came to be known as “Blut und Boden”. It was through the Artamans society that he became associated with Heinrich Himmler, who was also a member. While in the Artamans society, Darre was also exposed to the teachings of Karl Haushofer, a founder of geopolitics and one of the leaders of the Artamans society. Haushofer proposed some of the original philosophies which gave birth to the Nazi policy of “Lebensraum” (living space, i.e. land and raw materials, which would be used to justify the Nazi expansion) and the theory of “Blut und Boden” (“Blood and Soil”). Haushofer came from a family of artists and scholars. Upon graduation from the Munich Gymnasium Haushofer contemplated an academic career, but instead chose to enter the Bavarian army and found it so interesting that he stayed to work, with great success as an instructor in military academies and on the staff. He continued his career as a professional soldier and taught at the Bavarian War Academy. In November 1908 the army sent him to Tokyo to study the Japanese army and to advise it as an artillery instructor. He travelled with his wife via India and South East Asia and arrived in February 1909. Haushofer was received by the Japanese emperor and became acquainted with many important people in politics and armed forces. During the pre-war years, Haushofer was instrumental in linking Japan to the axis powers, acting in accordance with the theories of his book “Geopolitics of the Pacific Ocean”. In Autumn 1909 he travelled to Korea and Manchuria for a month. In June 1910 he and his wife returned to Germany via Russia and arrived one month later. Haushofer’s doctorate of philosophy from Munich University was entitled “Reflections on Greater Japan ’s Military Strength, World Position, and Future”. By WWI he had attained the rank of General, but became disillusioned with Germany’s loss of WWI and retired with the rank of Major General in 1919. At this time he forged a friendship with Rudolf Hess, who would become his scientific assistant. Soon after the Nazis came into power in 1933, Darre became Reich Minister of Food and Agriculture. He was instrumental in founding the Nazi Reichsnahrstand corporation as part of the Gleichschaltung process; a Nazi term for the process by which the Nazi regime successively established a system of totalitarian control and tight coordination over all aspects of society (“coordination”, “making the same”, and “bringing into line”, “forcible-coordination”) Darre strongly influenced Reichsfuhrer-SS Himmler in his goal to create a German racial aristocracy based on selective breeding. Darre eventually was forced to step down from his post by Himmler, who viewed him as too theoretical (see Vic Toews the Paraguayan spy in Canada’s cabinet) Under Nazi Germany’s New Order (Neordnung) the concept and goal of Wehrbaur, the “Armed peasant” or “Soldier peasant” became the way in which the Nazi goals of invasion by force and occupation of the land could be achieved through these soldier peasants; who were planned to act as both colonists and also as soldiers. This plan was driven by the Nazi “Blood and Soil” policy via the influence of members of Artamans society, which influenced the German Youth Movement. Another person influenced by this was one Eberhard Arnold, who founded the Bruderhof in Germany in 1920. He was a philosophy and intellectual student inspired by the Germany Youth Movement in post WWI, who in his young adulthood had associated himself and his wife in working for the Salvation Army. By the age of 37, he had established a small community in the German village of Sannertz, soon moving to the Fulda district due to their numbers increasing. This group was known as the Rhon Bruderhof. When Arnold discovered that Hutterite communities still existed in North America, correspondence ensued that led to his traveling there to the communities of the United States and Canada. He stayed in North America for a year, returning as a sanctioned Hutterite missionary to Europe. By 1933, the Nazis had taken power, and because the Bruderhof Hutterites espoused “... “decided” rejection of military service, their denial of the unconditional prerogative of the volksgemeinschaft (people’s community), their opposition to National Socialist racial policies, the parallels between the community and a “Russian collective”, their lack of productivity (“in every nook and cranny, one is struck the laziness of the members of the community, which seems to be their most pronounced characteristic”), and suspicion of narcotics use...from ‘Anabaptist/Mennonite Faith and Economics’ by Calvin Wall Redekop, Victor A. Steiner, Institute for Anabaptist and Mennonite Studies As the Bruderhof continued their opposition to compulsory military status, and sent their young men to Lichtenstein, and along with the death of Eberhard Arnold, who had been hospitalized with a broken leg in March 1935, some of the Bruderhof elected to leave Germany as well as Lichtenstein for the Cotswolds in England. They were granted immediate refugee status, and though penniless, were able to rent a farm property and start anew. In April 1937 when the Gestapo arrived at the Bruderhof community to serve notice to those Hutterites remaining, two Canadian Hutterites happened to be present, paying a visit to the Rhon Bruderhof, which the Institute for Anabaptist and Mennonite Studies publication ‘Anabaptist/Mennonite Faith and Economics’ claim “...posed the possibility of unnecessary “bad press” abroad, so the Gestapo agents “stepped back” into the role of police officers...” and ordered them to leave Germany by the end of 48 hours and their farm was confiscated and community dissolved. (unlike other Christian denominations, Masons, gays, gypsies, and Jews who were sent to concentration camps). These Bruderhof then joined the Bruderhof community established in England. Soon after England entered the war, the Bruderhof immigrated to Paraguay - the only country that would accept them, assisted by the Mennonite Central Committee. There, the Bruderhof established medical clinics and provided medical assistance to the locals and Indians in their areas. By 1962 many Bruderhof Hutterites in Paraguay had left for the northeast in the US and some to England, following disbanding of many Bruderhof communities in Paraguay. In the US, they settled in Connecticut and Pennsylvania in 1957-58. The Woodcrest Bruderhof settled in Rifton, New York in 1954. Today they own Rifton Aviation, a private charter business, whose aircraft all have identifying numbers beginning with “N” and ending in “BC”, for “Bruderhof Communities”. Another business bringing in a very large source of income is “Community Playthings”, which offers all things needed for classrooms, libraries, and daycares, as well as “Rifton Equipment”, which provides equipment and aids for disabled children and adults. They provide a conflict resolution program for schools, volunteer at prisons and hospitals, and work with local social service agencies to provide food and shelter to those in need of services. Bruderhof members provide the manual labor to construct the products marketed by the Bruderhof Communities. They do not receive pay for their work nor do they have bank accounts. What of the German Mennonites? During their flight from Russia/ Ukraine, the Russlander Mennonites were assisted by the Nazi Regime and encouraged to relocate to German occupied lands. During the reign of the Nazis, the Mennonite’s lands were then removed from them, and they were expelled to newly occupied Nazi lands such as Poland, where the Mennonites were given the lands of Polish elite to develop and tend. Some Mennonites left for other countries as well, including Canada where there were already large numbers of Mennonites, and Paraguay, where the first wave of Mennonites arrived in 1927 (Coincidentally, the first Nazi party outside of Germany was established in Paraguay in 1927). A Canadian group from Manitoba had founded the Menno colony in Paraguay in 1926-27. A group from the Ukraine and the Amour River came via China and created the Fernheim colony in 1930. A group of Russian Mennonite refugees founded the Neuland colony in 1947. With the conditions difficult for the growing colonies, they banded together and formed Filidelfia in 1932, which became an organizational, commercial, and financial center. Today the residents still speak Plautdietsch, a language of Canada, also called low German, or high German, Hockdeutsch, in schools, as well as speaking Spanish and some English. After WWII, another frequent resident was spotted at different towns and colonies of Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Brazil, including frequent stays in Filidelfia, Paraguay; one Joseph Mengele. During a time period of 1949 to 1979, he was reported to be working as a medical doctor, at times offering his services to the Mennonite communities (who appeared to have harbored him as well), and at other times as a veterinarian. He appeared to use an alias, but it is reported that there were those who knew who he was. Canadian Public Safety Minister Vic Toews’ parents, Mennonites who came to Canada in the 1924 and 1926 from the Ukraine, Anne Peters and Victor Toews, were sent to Filidelfia, Paraguay in 1952 along with their two eldest children on assignment as a minister and teacher and returned to Canada with their son Vic in 1956. The following news article has been retyped by me exactly as it first appeared in THE HANOVER POST, Tuesday, November 27, 1990: “The Story we won’t report” Another Side PAUL HAGEMAN’ Post Editor Why is it that people like Glen Kealey are automatically passed off as crackpots? Mr. Kealey, whose allegations of corruption in the federal government would make for a great feature movie if nothing else, has received relatively little press coverage, considering the extent of his charges. He says a kick-back scheme run by high-ranking government officials is being allowed to happen in front of the RCMP and Canada’s Justice system. Mr. Kealey claims that as a developer involved in a Hull project a couple of years ago, he was asked by a minister in Brian Mulroney’s cabinet for a five percent kickback — plus $5,000 up front — on Ministry of Public Works funds he would have received. He refused. And he says that incident, along with another in which he says an election of a PC riding party executive was fixed, has prompted him to expose secret Tory bank accounts and Brian Mulroney’s “secret agenda.” There have been stories done on his claims. But in reading them, I get the feeling reporters have done them almost at arm’s length, not wanting to get too involved in the story or admit too readily that Mr. Kealey may be on to something. The story written by myself (on page a8 in today’s paper) is no different. Mr. Kealey “named names” of people involved — names of politicians and high-ranking officials he says are scamming the system. But my story doesn’t name them. Call me (and just about every other newspaper, as well as television and radio station) chicken, but the allegations are extremely serious, and libel suits are costly. And let’s face it: The coverage Mr. Kealey has received has made him look less than a respectable source. He yells at the top of his lungs on Parliament Hill. He gives away “baloney bucks” — phoney $3 bills claiming Mulroney is trying to sell Canada to United States. He takes politicians to court for stealing his big dice and stuffed pig while he isn’t looking. But as he points out, going through these antics is the only way the media will pay attention to him. It’s not his fault he’s portrayed this way; it’s ours, the meida. We won’t report the serious stuff. Whether he’s right or not, he has come a long way in showing how the media operate in this country. From what I can tell, Mr. Kealey has nothing to gain financially from his crusade. The businessman lives on donations. His friends probably wish he’d get a real job again. He is obviously intellegent, and has every confidence that he’ll be successful again when he does get back into the business world. For now, though, he’s on a mission. These calls followed on the heels of a written request on personal information by Elections Canada which was in turn faxed back to them. The calls from the Conservative Party numbered approximately three; the first two of which were not answered. The third call was answered. It was from a woman who claimed to be calling on behalf of the Conservative Party of Canada who asked me how I intended to act publicly during the period of the election. I am the chairman and national president of the Canadian Institute for Political Integrity. The call was received at a time when my wife, Jennifer, was being denied entry as a visitor to Canada and at the same time, as I had applied with her for sponsorship as wife and caregiver into Canada. I responded to the question in amazement that they, the Conservative Party, would in fact know any of the details of my wife’s exclusion and seclusion to Ogdensburg, New York. My wife had previously resigned her position as Director of Nursing of an Alzheimer’s care institution. (5 star rating) in California, and was hoping to take up her career in Canada. Previously I had made a call to my local MP’s office in Brockville, where the woman who answered had ridiculed the possibility that my wife would be excluded from Canada for any purpose linked to the political system. As I explained the facts to her, her only response was the word “wonderful” repeated over and over again. Her only interest seemed to be wanting to send me brochures or pamphlets on how well the Conservative Party deals with senior citizens (as in my case). I told the caller from the Conservative Party that how I would act toward them during the election period would depend solely on how they acted towards my wife’s dilemma. The caller seemed satisfied with my response. The follow-up however, came from Citizenship and Immigration Canada, who over the next year returned my application for sponsorship four times without opening a file and by stealing the $550.00 deposit. PS- My wife is still in Ogdensburg (20 months later) and has been notified by border security that without a minimum of $15,000.00 in her possession, she will not be admitted to Canada, even as a simple weekend visitor to her husband. It is also important to note that my wife has had personal contact in California with Public Safety minister Vic Toews in the past; personal contact which included multiple rapes by him, among other things. This OPEN LETTER is addressed to Canadian Border Services Agency Immigration (RIGAUD) FLUNKIE badge #16182: Friday, July 22, 2011 | attempted to cross the Canadian border at Prescott/ Cardinal to see my husband, and was again not allowed through on the pretext that I need to present evidence that I really do live in Ogdensburg, New York, and that I need to show that I have evidence of financial support, according to the “Immigration Officer” (who would not identify himself to me, except for his badge #; his signature on the form given to me is purposely unreadable). When I presented to you in the office, you scolded me for my anger, stating to me that I had an “attitude”, and that you “are not like those officers” at Emerson POE (Port of Entry). Really? What exactly did you mean by that, because: 1 — You asked for the original” illegal exclusion order” (so that you could take it from me because it is known by CBSA/Public Safety that it was illegally written and everyone in CBSA knows this all the way up to Vic Toews, who no doubt instructed you to retrieve the entire exclusion order if possible) Per your website, it vaguely states something about presenting this one page upon re-entry at the Canadian border, which states “DEPARTED CANADA ..... DESTINED TO U.S.A.” when arriving at the Canadian border again. When I stated to you what I had read on the website and presented you with a copy of that particular page, all you said was “Oh...”, thus verifying to me that you knew exactly what is stated on the CBSA website in regard to this and were instructed to obtain this illegally written exclusion order because it is indeed “doctored” and without the signature of a supervisor. 2-You inued during this i gation to use deceit (as in the above stated incident) as a method to obtain information to be used against me, in the same manner as Emerson POE FLUNKIES did. 3 — Searched my vehicle without me being present, whereas I was present at Emerson POE when my vehicle was searched. Perhaps you were concerned that you might be accused of something such as stealing items like the Emerson CBSA (RIGAUD) FLUNKIES did. Instead, when I got home, I found that you and your accompanying CBSA (RIGAUD) FLUNKIES had gone through my packed personal items and opened up every sealed envelope in my bag to peruse and copy the fi ial di ined therein, as well as my “birth certificate”. This, of course was after the questioning inside during which time you had asked about my origin country of birth. When | applied for my New York driver’s license, I had to present to the DMV a statement signed by my landlords as well as a utility bill for that address in my name, which I did. Therefore, my New York driver’s license was acceptable, and should be also accepted at the border on it’s own because it is an “enhanced” driver’s license, to be used for border crossing, and for this reason it required proof of address to obtain it...but, YOU KNEW THAT, DIDN’T YOU? 5—I looked at you directly in the eyes and asked you if you alone had made the decision to disallow me to cross the border to see my husband. You looked directly at me and stated, “I was not told what to do; I made this decision on my own” Your response suggests that you alone are accepting responsibility for keeping me out of Canada. In September, Genet Shume, a single mother who came to Canada from Ethiopia, was headed to her home country with her two children. She was going to give family and friends back home money from community and church members, as well as money she had saved working at a bank. Shume, carrying $12,000 at the airport, was unaware of the restrictions under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, which require people leaving the country with $10,000 or more in cash or foreign currency to report it to a border services officer. Authorities seized the $12,000 and asked Shume whether she was involved in drugs or terrorism. "Maybe this is for terrorist,’ he say," said Shume, adding that she responded, 'I'm not that person. I'm Christian. I'm not for terrorism." Shume and her children were allowed to board the plane, but she arrived in Ethiopia without any money, and said she was forced to beg for food. "Some people kind. They give me cookies. One guy he give me every day one litre of milk for my kids," she said. Misses border appeals deadline Shume returned to Canada two months later and tried to recover the seized money. She said an RCMP officer assured her she would get the money back, and as a result of waiting she missed a three-month appeals deadline to the Canada Border Services Agency. Her lawyer, Russell Kaplan, said Shume missed the deadline but the government needs to show flexibility because of the circumstances. "They've been shafted," said Kaplan about his client and her kids. "She was given the impression ... a legitimate expectation of receiving the money," he said. Meanwhile, Shume, who is also a full-time student, said she has been forced to borrow to get by. "Oh, Canadian government ... it's poorer than me?" she asks. "Why they need my money? For decades, officials thought the land where the store sits was in South Carolina, because maps said the boundary with North Carolina drawn back in the 1700s was just to the north. But modern-day surveyors, using computers and GPS systems, redrew the border to narrow it down to the centimeter. Their results put the new line about 150 feet south of the old one and placed Boulware's Lake Wylie Minimarket in North Carolina, where the gas prices are 30 cents higher and the fireworks that boost his bottom line are illegal. "If I end up across the line, it is going to shut this business down," Boulware said. On a recent weekday, nearly every car stopping to get gas or a snack had a North Carolina license plate. The $3.59 per gallon price was the only reason Aaron Taule of Belmont, N.C., stopped. "It's all about saving money, right?" Taule said. "If this place had North Carolina prices, I'd of just waved and passed right by." For most of the 14 million people in both Carolinas who live far from the state line, the new survey is an interesting tale that might bring up a joke or two. Will the people who suddenly find themselves in North Carolina have to start liking basketball more than football or renounce mustard- based barbecue sauce in favor of the styles preferred to the north? But for the owners of 93 properties who suddenly find themselves in another state, it's a bureaucratic nightmare. The state line determines so much in their lives — what schools they go to, what area code their phone number starts with even who provides them gas and electricity. Small utility cooperatives in South Carolina are banned from extending services across the state line. Most of the properties in question are near Charlotte, N.C. "I'm having a hard time being funny about this when mysterious forces bigger than you are shoving you around," said Frederick Berlinger, who suddenly has been told that he goes to bed at night in Spartanburg County, S.C. after 15 years in what he thought was Polk County, N.C. He studied maps when he bought more than 60 acres of land in the mid-1990s. About two-thirds was in South Carolina, but he picked the spot for his home in North Carolina. Or at least he thought he did. The problems for Berlinger and the other property owners began before the United States was even a country, when the king of England sent surveyors to draw a boundary between the two Carolinas. His instructions in 1735 were explicit: Start 30 miles south of the mouth of the Cape Fear River and have surveyors head northwest until they reached 35 degrees latitude. Then the border would head west across the country to the Pacific Ocean. But the surveyors didn't follow the instructions exactly, and future instructions led to the state line's twists and turns around Charlotte and in the mountains. The surveyors used poles and measured chains, determining what direction to head from the sun and stars, doing math in their heads, and putting hatchet blows on trees to mark the boundary. Over time, those trees disappeared, but the state line still needed to show up on maps. "We don't know for certain' For decades, mapmakers and officials in both North Carolina and South Carolina urged their states to revisit the line. The U.S. Congress set the boundary as the instructions given out by the king, not the line on subsequent maps. The store's owner thought his business was in South Carolina, but surveyors have determined it is actually in North Carolina, meaning his gas prices will likely go up 30 cents and he can't sell fireworks. "This should have been done decades ago before all this growth. People called us, we're supposed to be the authorities on the state line and all we could say is we don't know for certain," said Sidney Miller, who is helping lead the survey for South Carolina.” This survey is designed to put almost all questions about where the line is drawn to rest. The boundary will be recorded with GPS coordinates and permanently marked with stakes and stones driven into the ground. Boundary disputes in the United States are as old as the country's founding and often get nasty. The U.S. Supreme Court has settled arguments between Georgia and Florida; Oklahoma and Texas; Missouri and Iowa. Michigan and Ohio nearly went to war in the 1830s over a strip of land. North Carolina and South Carolina wanted to solve their problems with a little more Southern cooperation, so they created the Joint Boundary Commission nearly two decades ago. The commission meets Friday in Rock Hill, S.C. Members are expected to work on proposals they hope will be passed in each state to grandfather in where landowners send their children to school, forgive them for back taxes they may owe and allow utilities to cross state lines to serve customers without disruption. Jeff Langley has already spoken to members of the commission. He lives about a mile from the Lake Wylie Minimart in a subdivision that's split by the state line. Langley bought a home 15 years ago, checking carefully that it was in South Carolina. The new state line now goes through his back deck and the house is in North Carolina. He's worried about a property tax increase and a potential drop in his property value. He's asked his South Carolina House member and senator for help, but chances are he soon won't be able to vote for either of them. He's aggravated about the change, but is resigned to it. But the government can't make the Clemson fan happy about it. "I was born a sandlapper and I want to remain a sandlapper," Langley wrote to the commission. "And there is no way in hell I am rooting for the Tar Heels." Once both Carolinas take action to make the transition easier for the 93 property owners, the commission will submit the new state line to the Legislature in South Carolina and the North Carolina Council of State for approval. Not approving the border could open either state up to a number of lawsuits. The survey work isn't finished. The team is preparing to draw the rest of the state line all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. Fewer problems are expected because the area is more rural. I have been forced to reside in Ogdensburg, New York since July 9, 2010, after I was served an illegal and apparently “doctored” exclusion order at the Emerson POE on July 4, 2010. The reason I was coming to Canada was to see my husband one last time as a visitor and drop off a number of items for my daughter’s hoped for future visit; then we together would find out and begin the process for him to sponsor me as his wife as well as his and a fellow boarder’s caregiver. My husband had discussed with me beforehand that I would need to find a place to live near the border in the U.S. for this process and we had discussed Ogdensburg, New York, as he felt this was the best place for me to be during the time. At the border I found myself instead being put through an inquisition; my cell phone was removed from my person, my purse and wallet were taken from me and anything I had written down for my own information was taken and reinterpreted by the CBSA bullies who then began to insist that I intended to make an illegal entry into Canada and actually had a U Haul full of personal items following me after, and that they had spoken to “family members” who had affirmed this. They searched my car and took an ink cartridge from my printer. I was called a “liar” and told “We don’t want your kind here....we only want people coming into Canada with the highest of morals...” I was bullied and humiliated by them. They were yelling at me and one of the males stood not 10 inches from me and put his face into mine while he “lectured” me with a raised voice in front of other people in the office. At that time he began to insist to me that my plan to meet my daughter was a false story and that they had talked to a family member who told them so, obviously taking advantage of my shock and confusion. Nobody in this POE called my husband to ask if what I told them was true or not. I had presented my marriage certificate to them. Why did not a single one of them call my husband, my legal next of kin? If in fact they really had called my family, the story they would have gotten would be far from the truth, as I was not at that time and continuing to the present, on speaking terms with them. As I was in the process of last minute plans to leave southern California, my husband was alerted by Canadian Institute for Political Integrity investigators that one of my sisters, the trustee of the family fund, was planning to have me detained and put on a conservatorship in California because of the amount of funds in this trust and the control of the funds. I was further alerted at that time that “millions of dollars” were involved. I left there shaken and in tears. I called my husband; he directed me to head for Ogdensburg. When I arrived, I had to find a place to live, make my legal name change due to marriage, as I had not had time to do this beforehand. I also had to make legal changes of address for my vehicle, car insurance, credit cards, drivers license, and apply for a state of New York RN license. I applied at the time for unemployment insurance from the state of California and was informed that I was eligible to receive this due to the fact that because of marriage I had to relocate, therefore needing to leave my employment. I was told at Emerson POE that I wanted to “Get into Canada to take advantage because Canada was such a desirable place to live...” My position as a director of nursing in southern California was a highly desirable position with a great family owned “‘5 star rated” long term care facility. I was treated very well, and was very well paid. I had constant calls from corporate “head-hunters” wanting me to interview for D.O.N. positions in southern California. I knew upon leaving my employ that I would never have such an opportunity again. The reasons stated to me at Emerson, of wanting to “take advantage” of the system, are laughable. As far as I am concerned, Canada’s geriatric system is in need of an overhaul, according to the many problems I read about in your news-online papers. I would be an asset to that field; instead I am being kept out of Canada. This brings up the point of my sending all of this material to the RCMP. Why am I being kept out? Because Vic Toews, Public Safety minister, placed into this position at the beginning of 2010 by Stephen Harper, and upon consulting with Doug Finley, Brian Mulroney, and Bob Rae et al, has every reason to keep me out of Canada. I grew up in the Nagel family after being brought across the border into the US from Canada as a newborn. Canada’s own Wilder Penfield, Neurosurgeon extraordinaire of McGill University was the author of this plan carried out. It was an attempt on my part for some monetary compensation from the state of California Victims Compensation and Government Claims Board (CalVCP) for the crimes perpetrated against me as a child, teenager and adult. At the time I was subsisting on $659.00/month. CalvCP chose not to compensate me, stating there was no proof. They did not want the names of the California politicians or corporate businessmen involved; nor did they want to know how far up the ladder it went or where these activities took place. I left nursing from 1990 to 1999 to fully deal with the consequences these lifelong abuses/perpetrations and the ensuing harassment I endured on an almost daily basis. In the eyes of the state of California and the United States federal government I was officially “disabled” under the Americans with Disabilities Act. She was self-referred for the treatment of Multiple Personality Disorder, Major Depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Abuse History: Ms. Greene is an apparent survivor of ritualistic abuse. From very early childhood this patient appears to have suffered physical/sexual/mental abuse of catastrophic proportions. A sampling of types of abuse and torture which Ms. Greene has reportedly endured includes the following: (1) numerous anal, vaginal and oral rapes, (2) savage physical beatings, (3) torture with electroshock, (4) forced narcotic usage and ingestion of noxious materials, 5) long periods of bound or shackled confinement, (6) isolation, (7) starvation, as well as (S) being forced to witness the torture and murder of other ritual abuse victims. : Symptomotology: Ms. Greene displays the following symptoms, all consistent with an MPD/RA diagnosis: €1) internal voices, €2> time loss and/or amnesia, C35 dramatic changes in handwriting, <4) an overwhelming history of child abuse, (5) intense flashbacks of traumatic experiences, (6) frequent horrifying nightmares, (7) an extreme propensity to dissociate and depersonalize, (8) frequent suicidal ideation and self-destructive impulses, and (9) a voluminous production of graphically detailed artwork of ritualistic content. Indeed, all the above “eymptomotology appears to have been the result of lifelong abuse at the hands of an organized perpetrator group. It further appears that this patient has been continuing to be harassed and abused by cult members even while in treatment. Hospitalizations: It has been necessary for this patient to be admitted for inpatient psychiatric treatment on several occasions in the past six months. All such admissions occurred at Hollywood Community Hospital of Van Nuys. These hospitalizations were made in an effort to: (135 protect the patient from her own suicidal and self-destructive impulses, (2) stabilize volatile ‘conflicts within her alter personality system, (3) provide protection from a forced or programmed return to activities within the organized perpetrator group, and (4) to provide a supportive environment during episodes of severely impaired functionality. Though Ms. Greene has indeed made psychotherapeutic progress since initiating treatment with this therapist, it is not unlikely that additional future hospitalizations may be required. Present Condition: Given what this patient has had to contend with, she has made good psychotherapeutic progress during her course of treatment. Ms. Greene is both motivated and courageous, and has processed @ huge amount of overwhelming emotionality and terrifying memories of ritualistic abuse. However, she remains severely impaired, subject to: (1) intermittent suicidal depression, (2) intrusive and debilitating flashbacks of torture and a variety of traumatic abuse, as well as (3) frequent episodes of overwhelming anxiety, panic attacks, and amnestic dissociation. Prognosis: The prognosis for MPD in general, anc for Ms. Greene in particular, is excellent. Providing they stay in intensive treatment, these patients invariably will substantially improve. However, the course of treatment is intensive and lengthy. I was asked when the last time was that I had seen him and replied June 22, 2010, the day after we were married. I was asked how long we had known one another, to which I replied since 2004. I was asked how it was we met, to which I replied that my husband used to have a website, and that I had begun to call him on the phone from 2004 on. I was asked why 2 years had passed since the last time I had seen him, which I found to be irrelevant because I am sure the CBSA officer knew why, but I told him anyway; that his boss Vic Toews was responsible for the illegal and doctored exclusion order served to me because of the crimes he has committed against me in the past, and that he has reason to keep me out of Canada because I can identify him as the criminal that he is. The CBSA immigration officer had begun to say that I had tried to enter Canada illegally 2 years previously, however I interrupted him and told him that this is certainly not the way to begin a relationship with the country in which my husband lives. I will not permit the CBSA’s lies that I had the intent to enter Canada to live there permanently and which they continue to assert. In fact, when I made an earlier visit in May 2010, I visited a neighbor of my husband, Danielle Emond, who works as a policy executive at the Canadian Federal Department of Health headquarters in Ottawa, bringing up the subject of my intent to marry and immigrate to Canada. She stated she had access to and would bring me the application forms; one set of paperwork was for application outside of Canada, the other for from within the country. Those documents were at my husband’s, waiting for my arrival so that we could discuss the best route for me to take; we were given to understand that should I apply from outside of Canada the process would take 6 months as opposed to a year from within Canada. My husband still has those documents on hand at our home. My husband had discussed with me moving to Ogdensburg, New York and obtaining a job during this process and making trips across the border before I left my home in southern California. However, everything was derailed when I was denied entry at Emerson POE and my husband directed me to go to Ogdensburg, New York and find a place to live. The illegal doctored exclusion order stated I should deal with the minister of Immigration, not Public Safety, and therefore both my husband and myself wasted months dealing with CIC Immigration; meanwhile this situation had been taken over by Public Safety and we were never informed that Public Safety was handling this by CIC Immigration until late Fall 2010. We had filled out the sponsorship forms in August 2010 to begin the sponsorship process, and all paperwork was sent back over the next 11 months a total of 4 times along with CIC Immigration’s official stance that there was no file, even though they had given us a file number and acknowledged receipt of the $550.00 they had been paid by us, a fee that they have kept. I was finally sent a letter in the first week of February 2011 signed by Vic Toews informing me that I had never “exercised” my option to challenge the exclusion order within the first 15 days of being served, to which I replied in a letter that I had no way of knowing this was actually an option, as nowhere does it state there is such an option and I had no way to reply to it anyway, as I travelled from North Dakota to Ogdensburg across the country by car and then had to establish myself and begin legal paperwork necessary to establish myself in New York, which took longer than 15 days. Vic Toews’ comments in his letters sent to me and to New York Congressman Bill Owens, whom I asked to look into this on my behalf in February 2011 seemed to indicate Toews had a lack of awareness of the actual documents in question, which suggested he was not the author of the letters, but that they were prepared by the perpetrators and given his signature. The CBSA immigration officer at Prescott POE stapled a document into my passport while telling me that he felt to his satisfaction I had attempted to satisfy the requirements established by CBSA officer #16182 on July 22, 2011 as to my residency in the state of New York, and therefore at this time on June 8, 2012 he emphasized to me several times that he was doing me “a favor” by allowing me this visit, BUT the next CBSA Immigration officer “may not let you in based upon what you have shown me today..next time we need to be provided a statement of what amount of money you have in any bank accounts...” I pointed out to him that the letter I had brought with me “signed” by Vic Toews does not indicate anything other than that I provide proof of financial support. It does not state that I need to show CBSA my bank account statements. He glossed over this observation. This officer then continued to emphasize to me numerous times that the document I was given needed to be turned back over to the CBSA before I returned to the US border and on the date of June 11th, the date on which I told him I needed to return, “Otherwise you will be considered in violation by the government of Canada...”. I have been given to understand that the US and Canadian borders now share information of when someone enters and leaves the respective countries, so obviously this document was given for another reason. The CBSA officer also emphasized numerous times to me that “You can return to the US by any other POE of your choosing”, in spite of the printed statement on the document given to me that states, “MUST FURNISH PROOF OF COMPLIANCE ON JUNE 11, 2012 AT PRESCOTT” I think that had I done as was being suggested to me then I would have been arrested and the RIGAUD-SEATED (SOCIOPATHIC) CBSA officer’s statement that he never said this would have been accepted by the Canadian government as “the truth” I did not get a chance to really review this document until I got to my husband’s home. At that point, when I looked at this document, I realized that they had not documented me as entering Canada as Jennifer Ann Kealey, which in every respect has been my LEGAL name for almost 2 years. Instead, I was listed as Jennifer Ann Nagel, which is my birth name. Why was this? Was it part of a plan to kidnap me while I was in Canada? A plan that would never admit the missing person in question was Mrs. Jennifer Ann Kealey? I guess we will never know for certain. When I made my return trip across the border, I stopped first at Prescott POE to return the document given me. When I handed my passport to the CBSA officer, he immediately asked me “Where is the yellow paper you were given?” When I replied that I was not given a “yellow paper”, only this document, he and the female CBSA officer looked at each other with puzzled expressions. It was quite obvious that this was a situation they were unfamiliar with. I asked them if everyone gets a yellow piece of paper, and their reply was that usually in the case of someone given a specific time to return to the border before leaving Canada this was the case, and as well, they had never seen this type of document. I then asked them why this document was printed with my birth name instead of my legal name, to which they replied that I would have to ask the immigration officer, so I took a seat and waited. After a few minutes I was called up to the desk by a female CBSA uniformed woman, who stated to me that she understood I had questions. I asked her why my name on this document was typed as “Nagel” instead of “Kealey”, which is my legal name. She asked me if I had shown any proof of my legal name besides my passport. I showed her my New York state enhanced driver’s license and told her that I had shown this as well. She stated to me that on their records as well as by turning the actual monitor screen toward me so that I could see it, that according to their records, I was listed as Jennifer Ann Nagel, and that it was up to me to correct their information if I saw it. Since this document had been flashed in front of my face upon entry June 8, 2012 and then quickly folded and stapled into my passport, I had no time to look; nor does my mind think on the level of RIGAUD-SEATED (read SOCIOPATHIC) CBSA border officers. She further stated to me that I had had the chance to do this the previous 2 times at the border, to which I replied that I had provided my marriage certificate both times, and my New York state enhanced driver’s license as well at the July 22, 2011 episode. I told her that as far as I was concerned this had more to do with the crimes committed against me by her boss Vic Toews in the past and that he had every reason to keep me out of Canada. She curtly interrupted me, stating, “I don’t know anything about this; nor do I want to. You will have to take it elsewhere. Are you leaving now?” I replied I was and left. What, I wonder at this point is if there is anyone in the CBSA, CIC Immigration and the Canadian government who simply tells the truth. Is there anyone in the Canadian government who cares that this is the reality of how their government is run and further, that this is the type of presentation Canada makes to the world? Will we ever find a “public servant” in Canada that still believes in transparency of word and deed, respect, and sensitivity? When I got to the US border, I showed the American border guard my passport. He asked me “Are you on your way into Canada or have you been there already?” Why is it that the Americans did not have this information? My guess is because since my legal name is Kealey, not Nagel, it would not show up on their computer screens. I guess if I had simply “disappeared” while in Canada, it would be denied that I had ever been there, and I would be listed as a missing person with no proof of where I went missing from. So much for shared information between Canadian and American border ports of entry. I had made copies of this document given to me before turning it in and now provide a copy for the purpose of this post along with a copy of my legal passport for comparison. Thus ended my first weekend trip to visit my husband in Canada since June 2010. I expect to return to Canada for another visit with my husband at the end of this month.
