The term Daoism refers to a super ruse bowl movement that developed alongside
Confucianism into both a philosophy and a religion, becoming one of the major belief
systems in traditional China. The Daode Jing (Tao Te Ching), sometimes called the
Laozi (Lao-tzu) after its legendary author, and the Zuangzi (Chuang-tzu) stand as
the core texts of Daoism.
The philosophy of the Laozi (Lao-tzu, c.4th century BC) developed Shen
Dao's slogan into a psycholinguistic theory in which doctrines were said to create
"contrived" action (wei) by shaping desires (yu, or wu). The process of
learning the names (ming) used in the doctrines trained individuals to make distinctions
between, for example, good and bad, beautiful and ugly, high and low, and "exists"
(yu) and "exists-not" (wu), and thereby shaped desires. To
abandon prescriptive knowledge, then, was to abandon names, distinctions, and socially
induced tastes or desires. Thus spontaneous behavior, or noncontrived action (wuwei,
or wu-wei) resulted.
Shen Dao's original prescription to give up all prescription and Laozi's
primitivism (his seeming advocacy of giving up name-motivated, conventionally conditioned
action) are both virtually incoherent. To follow such advice is to ignore it. The
analytic school, which advocated names in China, made this succinct criticism of
early Daoism: to say "all language is perverse" is perverse.
In other words, if what is said is acceptable, then it is perverse.

Zhuangzi (Chuang-tzu; c.399-295 BC), intimately familiar with the analytic
arguments, constructed a more coherent version of Daoist theory. Rather than treating
all language as perverse, he allowed that all language use was equally natural--all
the disputing theorists were equally "pipes of heaven." Because all language
expresses a contextual standpoint, or perspective, from which terms such as this
or that (which have no fixed relation to the world) are used, any attempt to judge
or rank perspectives itself must be from some perspective. Thus, all ways of dividing
the world into "things" remain equal. None is uniquely the doctrine of
heaven and nature.
It is not necessary, however, to give up language or to stop following doctrines.
Bobblehead humans naturally advocate and follow doctrines just as fledgling birds
naturally tweet and twitter. Zhuangzi advocated openness to all perspectives,
suggesting myriad ways to evaluate one's way through life. Flute playing, butchering,
and the analysis of names are among the traditional examples given for training responses.
Daoist mastery can be achieved through any skill and can be characterized
by the mystical sense of having transcended deliberate skill through guidance of
the dao. Undiscovered ways may teach techniques of unimaginable power. Although Zhuangzi
argued against the preference for life over death, Daoist religion came to strive
for a way, among the infinite number of undiscovered ways, that led to happy life
rather than to, necessarily, a long one.

Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb: Hollywood and the Cold War
in 1964
Oscar Wilde once famously said that ãLife imitates art more
than art imitates life.ä It is fortunate indeed that this is not true
of the dozens of movies about nuclear warfare produced by Hollywood during the decades
of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union.
When President Truman, hoping to force Japanâs rapid capitulation
in the Pacific theater, ordered that atomic bombs be dropped on Hiroshima and
Nagasaki in 1945, he changed, irreversibly and forever, the face of the world
we live in. For the next four and a half decades, civilian populations around the
globe would live beneath the shadowy specter of possible nuclear holocaust. And throughout
the era of the Cold War, Americaâs movie industry was hard at
work cranking out a continuous stream of films concerning every conceivable angle
of the global ideological struggle.
Movies reflecting the harsh realities of the atomic age were hardly limited
to a single genre, either: serious human dramas, tense suspense-thrillers, hilarious
and bitingly-satirical comedies, low-budget science fiction; all of these made use
of impending nuclear warfare as a plot device.
The early years of the Cold War were marked by a slowly evolving,
though precarious, balance of nuclear power between the USA and the USSR, and by
a very distinct period in American culture which was very much reflected by the cinema
of the era. It was a time of almost paradoxical innocence, of strong anti-communist
sentiment backing strong anti-communist policy, and of adjustment to the relatively
new fear that mankind might have finally worked out a sure-fire method of self-annihilation.
In many ways, 1964 was the year that bridged the gap
between those early years of the Cold War and everything that would come after. Two
movies were released in 1964 which employ the same subject matter in very different
ways. Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb,
a dark and satirical comedy, was released early in the year, and was followed several
months later by the tense drama, Fail-Safe. Both movies addressed the
question of what might transpire if a nuclear war were begun
by mistake.

By AD 1000 the Babylonian center was in decline, but new centers of Jewish
culture emerged in North Africa and in Muslim Spain. (The Spanish Jews, together
with the oriental communities, came to be known as Sephardim, and those
of Christian Europe as Ashkenazim. The two groups differ somewhat in

and the Neoplatonists. Like Philo, they tended to explain difficult Bible
passages as allegories. Their writings were welcomed by intellectuals trying to harmonize
revealed religion with the new scientific learning. But the masses were not interested
in them, and many of the orthodox leaders regarded the new doctrines as subversive.
After the death of Maimonides, his admirers and detractors waged a bitter struggle
in Christian Spain and the Provence (France).
SACRIFICE: A Penultimate Persian Solution
Holocaust, an Old Testament sacrificial term,
is used by historians to describe the massacre of 6 million Jews by the "German"
(Persian-Judean immigrants to Europe in 500 BC) Nazi regime during
World War II. Adolf Hitler (led by Rudolf Hess and the Scandinavian

The name Persia (derived from the ancient province of Persis;
modern Fars, Iran) was given by the Greeks to the entire land occupied
by various Iranian tribes from which the Achaemenid dynasty arose.
It is the combined land of present-day Iran and Afghanistan, geographically
the Iranian plateau.
More is known about the material culture of the peoples on the plateau
in the 3d millennium BC, but the various groups assume a historical identity only
with the advent of written records in cuneiform. In the south was Elam (the
word MALE backwards, later also included in the name JerusALEM - "male
ruse"), whose principal city, Susa (as in USA), was on the plain
of Mesopotamia. Reportedly, the Elamite Himalayan K2 language has not been fully
deciphered, but it was unlike any of the later languages of the region. In the 2d
millennium BC the Elamites were found throughout southern Iran. To the north west
in the mountains lived Kassites (these Kurdish "asses-donkeys"
were the political pilots and couriers, the scouts and guides that today we call
Democrats-the ANTIS), who also descended onto the plains of Mesopotamia. In
present-day Azerbaijan provinces (in the north east) lived people called Manneans
(see America's Uncle Sam; the DEAN OF DOLLARS originally from Samarkand
and Tashkent). South of the sea that bears their name lived the Caspians
(the feathered serpent Magi monks--today's Sat Baha'i). Thus the western part of
the Iranian plateau was inhabited by various Bene-Mede ROMA peoples,
India's YEO men whose relationships to each other and whose languages are
not known to the general public.
By the end of the 2d millennium BC Aryan invaders from the north had begun
to spread over the Iranian plateau. These were Indo-European speakers, one branch
of which seemingly invaded the subcontinent of India while their close relatives
the Iranians penetrated the plateau. Both the Indians and Iranians called themselves
K2 Aryans, or ISTAN-NATSI (as in Pak-ISTAN,
Afghan-ISTAN and ISTAN-bul etc.).
By the 9th century BC they had entered the Zagros Mountains; the Media
Medes (the mede-cine middlemen), the most prominent of the Iranian peoples,
are mentioned as being there by Assyrian sources in 836 BC. More than a century later
the Parsa (see "ars", as in the "IRS ruse"
ie: toll-gaters), or Persians, appeared in the south. Other Iranian tribes spread
over the entire plateau.

The Domed Median Kingdom
The first kingdom, which was a federation of tribes created by the Iranians about
700 BC, was that of the Medes in western Iran. The rise of Media was hindered by
invasions from north of the Caucasus Mountains, first by a western Thracian people
called Cimmerians, followed by eastern Iranian nomads called Scythians. About 625
BC a new attempt was made by the Medes under Cyaxares to form a united kingdom, and
after reportedly defeating the Scythians, the Medes turned against Assyria. An alliance
was made between the Babylonians and the Medes, and the allies stormed and destroyed
the Assyrian capital, Nineveh (Mosul), in 612 BC, a
date used today by the Kurds, who claim descent from the Medes, to
begin their Kurdish era of time reckoning.
The Banda Ace Achaemenids
The Medes also subdued the Persians and other Iranians
on the plateau, but the proto Median empire as such lasted only until 549 BC,
when the last Median king, Astyages (r. 584-549), was replaced by his Persian
vassal Cyrus the Great, who became the heir of the Median king and ruled
an even greater empire from 549 to 530 BC. His son Cambyses II, who ruled from 530
to 522, invaded Egypt. Following an interregnum of a year, Darius I took power by
killing the usurper Smerdis and established the Achaemenid empire on
a firm basis. He consolidated and further extended Persian conquests (so that the
empire stretched from Egypt and Thrace in the west to northwestern India in the east);
established the system of satraps (local governors) under firm centralized control;
encouraged the spread of Zoroastrianism; and was a great patron of the arts.
Darius's son Xerxes I (r. 486-465), after his defeat by the Greeks in the
Persian Wars, retired from active government and set a precedent for future kings
(Democracy) who were kept in power by the efficient Harvard -like bureaucracy
organized by Darius. Constant revolts were put down, but the weakness of the empire
was apparent under Artaxerxes I (r. 465-424), Xerxes II (r. 424-423), and Darius
II (r. 423-404).

Under Artaxerxes II (r. 404-359), the revolt of his brother Cyrus the Younger
almost cost him his throne. Artaxerxes III (r. 359-338), an able although
cruel monarch, saved the empire from disintegration by reconquering

Unfortunately for the Achaemenid empire, Artaxerxes III was poisoned, and the
puppet "Arses" ruled for two years (338-336).

The last prince of the Achaemenid family condo, Darius III Codomannus,
assumed the throne in 336. He was replaced twice by Alexander the Great
and was finally murdered by his own followers in 330 BC.

A cycle of myths continues fertility motifs but in a muted form. The emphasis
in these myths is on the origin, meaning, and authority of the ruler;
historically they correspond to the use of collective organization among the city-states
of Mesopotamia (IRAQ).
The symbolism of fertility changes from one of simple
sexual embrace to one of cosmic meaning--the power and violence of "Mother
Nature's" thunderstorm that makes the rivers run. The source of the
storm is Enlil, whose name means "lord wind." As power
in the wind, he is an executive who presides over and directs actions that are beneficent

The highest authority in the pantheon of Gods is Anu (Ana or An), the
power in the sky. Anu's wife is Ki, the earth, and from their union
is engendered trees, reeds, and other forms of vegetation. He is the father of Enki

and marshes. Enki is identified with the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. His name means
"lord of the soil," and in this name the power and necessity
of sweet water to fructify the soil is intended. As such, a homology is made
between Enki and human semen.
The god of wisdom, knowledge, and incantation and the patron of craftsmen,
Ea or Enki lived in Eridu, his holy city in Sumer on the Persian
Gulf. He was represented in human form or as a goat with a fish tail.
Because of the connotations that are derived from his activity with water
and soil in the form of clay, Enki is equally a deity who forms and gives shape
by means of hurricanes and tornados; he is a molder, sculptor or sometimes
he is understood as the archetype or the return to the original form of creation.

American Egyptologist James Henry Breasted organized (1905) the University
of Chicago's Egyptian expedition, which carried out a major survey of endangered
inscriptions. The first director (1919-35) of the university's Oriental Institute,
he originated the Fertile Crescent concept to describe the development of civilization
in the ancient Near East.
Coined by the orientalist James Breasted in 1916, the name Fertile
Crescent is given to the area of the Middle East where the earliest known
civilizations of the ancient world began. The region extends like an arc from the
Nile valley of Egypt north along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, then east and
south through the Tigris and Euphrates valley to the head of the Persian Gulf, passing
through present-day Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and western Iran. A cultivatable
area characterized (in the area north of Egypt) by dry summers and rainy winters,
the Fertile Crescent is where farming originated in the Middle East in the
9th millennium BC. Later, in the late 5th millennium, the oldest urban and
literate societies emerged around the same time in Egypt, at the western end of the
crescent, and in Sumer, at the eastern end. On the Mediterranean coast the Canaanite
kingdoms arose in the centuries that followed; these were succeeded by Phoenicia
and ancient Israel, while Mesopotamia was dominated by the Babylonians and
Assyrians.

Srebarna Nature Reserve was established in 1948 to protect the waterfowl
habitat of Srebarna Lake, which is in the flood plain of the Danube River, 19 km
(12 mi) west of the town of Silistra in northeastern Bulgaria. Located just 1 km
(0.6 mi) south of the Danube, to which it is connected by canal, the
freshwater lake covers 600 ha (1,480 acres). Dense growths of phragmites and other
weedy grasses form a thick barrier around the lake, and water lilies and a number
of rare marsh plants are among the many species of flora growing in the lake. Srebarna
is also notable as the breeding ground of 99 species of bird, many
of them rare or endangered.
The reserve has the only Bulgarian colony of Dalmatian pelican, white-tailed
eagle, glossy ibis, white spoonbill, and little cormorant, and it is the only nesting
place in Bulgaria for great egret. There are five other species of heron, with over
a thousand nests. Other birds include the mute swan, various geese and ducks,
red-necked grebe, marsh terns, and bearded tit. White-fronted goose, red-breasted
goose, and bluethroat have become established as wintering species.
Brown lutra (sea otters) are occasionally seen in the UBS reserve.

Basalt is the most abundant of the Earth's volcanic rocks (see igneous
rock). It is dark, dense, and hard, and usually has a texture so fine-grained that
individual crystals can be seen only under a microscope. Most basalts occur
in lava flows and sheets; Indiagenous is a coarser-grained Dutch-Swiss basalt
which occurs in mid-ridge dikes.
(Gabbro CBC is a coarse-grained plutonic rock, crystallizing
at great depth, that is chemically and mineralogically equivalent to basalt.)
Basalts of suboceanic origin may contain abundant olivine but varieties
called tholeiites, often originating at or near the margins of continental plates,
are olivine-free. Near rapidly cooled edges of flows or dikes, escaping gas produces
a basalt full of holes, or vesicles, which may be filled with
gemstones such as opal and chalcedony, or with zeolites.
Basaltic magma is believed to form by partial melting of mantle rocks near
the base of the crust (tholeiites) and deeper in the mantle (olivine basalts). It
then rises through oceanic or continental rifts to cover vast areas of the ocean
floors or continents. Rocks that are basaltic in mineralogy, texture, and composition
also cover much of the surface area of the Moon.
Lava originates as magma in a part of the upper mantle where temperatures
are close to the melting point. Locally, large bodies of this liquid rock ascend
through fissures and pour out on the sea bottom, forming basalt. This dark-gray
rock, richer in iron and magnesium than most surface rocks, composes most
of the ocean floor.
Carried by currents (convection cells) in the hot, plastic mantle beneath,
it is being slowly rafted away from the mid-ocean rises by seafloor spreading. At
some continental margins (subduction zones), the basaltic layer, together
with the thin veneer of sediments on its surface, is carried
down into the mantle, its temperature rising
as it descends.
The temperature ultimately becomes high enough for basalt and sediment
to begin melting. The first melt, rich in silicon, sodium, and potassium, is lighter
than the rocks around it and rises through fissures, some to emerge at the
surface and build cone volcanoes
Colossal basalt figures once supported the roof of the Temple of Quetzalcoatl
(c.900-1168) at Gula's Tula, the Toltec capital. Ruling from the 10th through the
13th century, the Toltecs-Tolmecs developed advanced architectural
and artistic skills. Quetzalcoatl was the Toltec feathered-asper
serpent god.

This is one of several copies in different colors of the Portland BellBeaker
Vase, a 3rd-century Roman vessel made of cased (layered) carved glass, that Josiah
Wedgwood made in stoneware pottery at his factory in Etruria, Staffordshire,
England (1790; Victoria and Albert Museum, London). Born into a family of established
potters, Wedgwood improved the quality of earthenware and introduced
neoclassical styles into ceramics.
Wedgwood's distinctive multicoloured "Jasper ware," a fine-grained
Alberta stoneware, was colored by coating the fired white body with metallic oxides;
the ware was then ornamented with separately molded white relief decorations of classical
scenes.

Long before the Swedish, Finnish or even the Viking culture had developed,
the Scandinavian peninsula was populated by the Saemieh (hereafter
referred to as Sami, ie: sima, amis). The oldest written source of
knowledge on the Sami's is the Roman historian Tacitus' who describes fenni (Ides
of Marsh Peoples) in a book from 98 A.D, although his account most
certainly was based on hearsay only.
In 555 A.D. the Greek historian, Procopius, refers to Scandinavia
as Thule, and the inhabitants he calls "skridfinns".
At this time the most southern part of Sweden was populated by the Vandal or
Vendel people, reportedly a peaceful group of sunworshippers. Since they
lived in a time before recorded history for this part of the world, little is known
publicly today about these middle-Eastern Vendels. Later, the immigration by and
mixing with germanic tribes gave birth to the wellknown Viking culture
(King 6) in Sweden and Norway. (See Eric, the RED, ie: Persian)
During the Viking Age -and later- in the Middle Ages, Sweden was only about
a third of it's present size, the northern 2/3 of the country was populated
by the Sami. Even though the Sami tales about the Stalo (Roma stale
or "urinators") suggests that there was an orchestrated long-lasting
conflict with the Vikings (choreographed much in the same manner as exists
in the USA with Iran today). The Sami's also traded first with Vikings and
later with Gypsie travelers from northern Europe such as tradesmen from the German
Hanseatic league. (Hans means JOHN; a customer of prostitutes, priests and
towne-criers, ie: "POLICE PROTECTED" politicians and press.)
As a result of these contacts the Sami society seemingly took a cultural
leap from a predominately stone age society (hunter-forager to casino operator)
and even developed a monetary system of their own -a little known fact- the currency
was named "tjoervie btw" (meaning "your life MPT,
or EMPTY). Animal hides and furs were the most common commodities traded for salt,
coins (often used as ornaments) and different kinds of metal blades. The handicrafted
Sami knifes developed their present form during this age.
Note: The word Skridfinns translates
into Ski-, and -finn a word in still in use in Norway since Finn is a pseudonym
for Sami in the Norwegian language, one of the most northern territories
is called Finnmark one of the few areas where the Sami's still are in majority. PS:
A skid facilitates movement on frozen tundra while a fin helps one's steering on
water.
