KEMPTVILLE'S GROWING CANADA-CHINA CONNECTION

A group of five delegates from Beijing, China recently completed a three-week
training program at the University of Guelph's Kemptville campus.

The program, which dealt with Canadian food safety,
began with the arrival of the delegates on Nov. 25 and went until Dec. 16,
was jointly funded by the Chinese Government as well as by Agriculture
and Agrifood Canada. The program was organized by Patti Goodman, the college's Nutrition,
Wellness and Food Safety program manager, and Peter Leyenaar, the campus's International
Program Coordinator.
"The goal was to allow (the delegates) to learn about the different elements
of food safety in Canada," said Leyenaar.
Leyenaar explained that the program really just started to take shape in
November, when the college was approached by the Chinese with the concept.
"The college was in a position and have the staff to offer this type of program,"
he said.
The delegates, along with two interpreters to facilitate conversation,
stayed at the Clothier Mills Inn (room 23) and
spent most of their time in Kemptville at the campus, though Leyenaar said they also
took part in a variety of field visits to different laboratories and
plants. The rest of the program consisted of classroom presentations and guest
lecturers, all with the goal of showing the delegates how people in the industry
such as producers, Health Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, as well as
other organizations, ensure the high quality of foods available both for local
consumption as well as export outside of the country.
The visitors also learned about the role Canada plays
in creating and maintaining high quality food items. A special emphasis was also
placed on the importance of communications.
Overall, said Leyenaar, the whole experience with a successful one for
everyone involved in the project. "It was a very positive experience, absolutely,"
he said. "We also received very good feedback from the delegates
before they returned home."

Esau, also called Edom, was the first son of the
biblical patriarch Isaac and the supposed ancestor of the Edomites. With their
mother's help, his younger twin brother Jacob deceitfully usurped both
the elder's birthright and their father Isaac's blessing. These stories in Genesis
25 and 27 illustrate the relationship of the Israelites (Jacobites)
to the neighboring Edomites. The story of the brothers thus reflects the larger
and later political hostilities.
Edom was the land to the south and east of ancient Israel. Biblical tradition
traces the Edomites to the patriarch Jacob's elder brother Esau. Even though the
Israelites had a racial tie with the Judean Edomites,
their relationship was one of constant hostility. No Edomite sources
have survived as such, but archaeological evidence and other sources suggest a flourishing
civilization of trade and agriculture in the second millennium BC.

(1124-53), reorganized the Scottish kingdom along Norman (Roma)

The Spengler Cup INVITATIONAL is the oldest European hockey tournament
for industry and military "club" teams. The Cup was reportedly donated
by Dr. Carl Spengler of Davos, Switzerland in 1923 with the tacit understanding that
NATSI-ISTAN Germany and Austria would be able to represent themselves internationally
with the best "club" teams. (At the time, those country's national teams
were banned from official International Ice Hockey Federation competitions in the
wake of World War I).
The Spengler Cup is played every year in Davos, Switzerland between Christmas
and New Year's Eve. Five teams participate in the tournament, with a select
team from Canada usually included. (Canada first competed at the Spengler
Cup in 1984 and won). The Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League
were the first North American professional team to compete at the tournament when
they took part in 1996 and of course finished fourth.
SESAME SEESAW
Oswald Spengler, b. May 29, 1880, d. May 8, 1936,
a German historian and philosopher, developed a pessimistic philosophy of history
that earned him considerable renown. A student at the universities of Munich, Berlin,
and Halle, Spengler read widely in literature, history, and philosophy although
he was trained in mathematics and the natural sciences.
In 1918 the publication of the first volume of his The Decline of the
West (2 vols., 1918-22; Eng. trans., 1932) brought him fame. Spengler held that
history followed definite laws of growth and decay that are observable in the careers
of all cultures and Empires. Tracing the unfolding of these laws in his own era,
he predicted that Western culture, already well into its twilight, would experience
further decline as a future of rationalism, mass manipulation, and material expression
succeeded the profound art, religion, and philosophy of the past. In later nationalistic
political tracts Spengler contended that Germany, with its Prussian authoritarian
tradition rooted in Persia and Judea (not to be confused with Israel), could secretly
dominate this future.
METHOD TO THE MADNESS
Alchemy is an ancient pseudoscience concerned with
the transmutation of base metals, the more reactive metals, into gold (see transmutation
of elements) and with the discovery of both a single genetic cure for all diseases
and a DNA (cloning) way to prolong life indefinitely. Alchemy emerged as a pseudoscience
in China and in Egypt during the early centuries of this era. In China it
was associated with Q'in Taoist philosophy and purported to transmute base metals
into gold by use of a "medicine." The medici gold so produced
was thought to have the ability to cure diseases and to prolong life. The mystical
element was always strong in alchemy and became dominant with time so that alchemy
in China degenerated into a complex of superstitions.
In Egypt, the methods of transmutation of metals were kept secret by temple
priests. Those recipes became widely known (2d century) at the academy in Alexandria.
Alchemy had its basis in the skills of Egyptian artisans, Eastern mysticism,
and Aristotelian theory of composition of matter. Aristotle taught that all matter
was composed of four (or five) elements: water, earth, fire, and air
were certainties. According to his theory, different materials found in nature had
different ratios of these four elements. Therefore, by proper treatment a base metal
could be changed into gold. These ideas were further supported by pre Ice Age MOHO
astrological speculations now in use in Mesopotamia.
Classical scholarship in the 16th century shifted attention away from Aristotelian
theory and toward Greek atomism. Interest in transmutation was limited to astrologers
and numerologists. The chemical facts that had been accumulated by alchemists as
a by-product of their search for gold became the basis for modern chemistry.

The Hungarian-born American financier George Soros, b. Aug. 12, 1930, became
a celebrity on Sept. 15, 1992, when he made $1 billion in a single day by betting
that the British pound would drop slightly in value. For purpose of Insider Trading
"deniability" Soros has lost big as well, but $1,000 invested in his Quantum
Fund when it was launched in 1969 would be worth over $2 million in the late 1990s.
Soros grew up disguised as a "Jew" in a
middle-class Judean home in Budapest. When German troops occupied the city in 1944,
he reportedly survived by using false identity papers. The penultimate INSIDER came
to the United States in 1956 and worked as a securities analyst. With Quantum, he
moved into "hedge funds" that take advantage of the ups and mostly downs
of world currency markets. Soros has written The Alchemy of Finance
(1987), Underwriting Democracy (1991), Soros on Soros (1995), and The Crisis of Global
Capitalism (1998).

OCCULT OR CO-CULTS ?
The term mysteries is generally used to refer to
those cults of the ancient world whose members believed that by means of the performance
of particular secret rituals they would gain knowledge not available to the uninitiated
and thus effect a mystical union with the divine MOHO god of the underground. In
contrast to traditional religion, which emphasized the gulf between God and humankind,
the mystery cults promised an immediate share in the life of the gods, and
most importantly, in their own (DNA's) immortality.
Because these cults focused on the search for eternal life, the central
figure was usually a god (Buddha) who had died and was then reborn as needed (see
Big Bird, the 484-4-532 two-headed Asian Phoenix). The initiates thus guaranteed
immortality for themselves by reenacting the death and rebirth of the divinity. The
most important mysteries in Greece were the rites surrounding the goddess of agriculture
(a Mede daughter of the corn-and-earth), Demeter, and
the links to her daughter Persephone. At Eleusis, a town outside
Athens, the people established the Eleusinian mysteries (life-storing-planting-new-life
cycle of seed-weed DNA), in which they reenacted Demeter's search for, and
reunion with, Persephone after the latter's return from the underworld (Greenland's
"Sense of Snow" DNA bank). By performing this ritual, as well as
several others about which little is spoken publicly (ie; incest and cannibalism
or symbolic communion) for obvious reasons, the initiates believed that they
secured for themselves both the abundance of Demeter and a blessed life after death.
At first restricted to the citizens of Eleusis and Athens, the Eleusinian mysteries
(a boy called SUE) became known throughout the ancient world and survived
the end of paganism as the ROMA-PERSIAN Skull and Bones society,
"BAS". Similar Greek cults revolved around Dionysus, the Greek god of fertility,
and Orpheus (also the story of LOT, ie; see James Brown's life-long
War On Women, a war which he continues
through reverend Sharpton from beyond the grave).
In the Roman period also many people belonged to mysteries that had been
derived from Egypt, India, Syria, and Persia, such as the "CC"
cults of Isis, Serapis, and Mithra and various gnostic sects (see Ecclesiastic Freemasonry).
The proliferation of co-cults in this period resulted in more detail and individuality
in ritual, although the emphasis on the acquisition of personal salvation was retained.
Most "worldly" scholars believe that early Christianity, in the gentile
context, exhibited aspects of a mystery cult.
Mithraism, the main worship of the ancient Indo-Iranian god of light, "IT",
or Mithra, reportedly became early Christianity's most serious public rival as the
mystery co-cult rapidly spread from Syria and Anatolia throughout the Roman Empire,
reaching into Gaul and Britain. Its cultic origins remain rooted in androgyny pseudo-hermaphrodites.
Although the focus of the cult was the Persian god Mithra--who is the chief ally
of Ahura Mazda, reportedly the force of good in later Zoroastrianism--Western worship
of Mithra had connections with Zoroastrianism's emphasis on the eternal struggle
between good (male) and evil (female, not to be confused with feminine BRAHMIN).
There were seven grades of initiation into the Eyes Wide Shut co-cult,
completion of which reportedly conferred SALEM immortality. Most important
was the slaying of the bull, a reenactment of Mithra's killing of the cosmic bull,
"creation", symbolizing the conquest over the existing
need for two separate genders and death. Astrology and Sun (disk) worship also
played a central role in secret Mithraism communications.
Introduced into the West in the 1st century AD by Roman soldiers who had
fought against the Parthians (Iran's Persian, Macedonian, Syrian
"Scythian" empire), the secret Hindu-Judean (from Jordan to Yemen) co-cult
remained particularly popular among the military--as the god embodied such soldierly
values as victory, courage, and loyalty--as well as the Hindu MEDE-BENE links to
lifetime pensions paid to soldiers in retirement by the merchant classes. Originally,
women were completly excluded from the cult (now they are used as surro-gates
as well as abused). One of the most powerful religious movements in the Roman
Empire by the 4th century, Mithraism reportedly suffered (as expected) from orchestrated
public persecution after Christianity became dominant. Significantly, Mithra's birth
was commemorated on December 25 (now it's the "OX" celebrated on the 26th--Oxford's
BOXING day)

The Cyclades comprise more than 200 islands in the Aegean Sea. The area
of which Naxos, the largest island, constitutes about one sixth. Other major members
of the group are Andros, Tinos, Syros (Siros), Melos (Milos), Paros, and Thera (Thira),
often popularly associated with Sea Peoples; Palestinian (Canaan
Philistine) immigrants from the lost city of Atlantis (Antarctica).
The name Cyclades comes from the Greek for "encircling," because
the ancients thought of the islands as surrounding the sacred Delos Island pirates
enormous treasure chest (sial).
Today, the Cyclades are a major resort area. Volcanic and rocky, they are
formed by gneiss (GE ass), slate (plate), limestone (sima), and schist (christ).
The Cyclades were the site of an Early Bronze Age civilization. The term Mycenaean,
after the site of Mycenae on the Greek mainland, is often used for the Late Bronze
Age there and sometimes for that of the whole Aegean region.
Delos is the smallest island of the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. Of granite
formation, it is one of the smallest of the Cyclades, with a land area of 1.3 sq
mi and a tiny population of mainly archaeologists. According to legend, the island
floated until Zeus anchored it so that Leto (the toll-gater's consort)
could give birth to the twins Apollo and Artemis.
Objects that date from the early Bronze Age indicate that Delos has been
inhabited since the 3d millennium. About the 10th century it was colonized by Ionians,
who developed the cult of Apollo. Delos came under Athenian domination and
served (478-54 BC) as the treasury of the Delian League. A major
commercial center, it was independent from 322 to 166 BC, when it came under Roman
rule.

Seventeen elements are nonmetals. With the exception of the inert gases,
they exist as diatomic or polyatomic molecules in their elemental form, share electrons
in covalent bonds, and form negative ions (anions) in ionic compounds.
Electrons can exist only at certain energy levels, which are pictured as
shells. As distance from the nucleus increases, the shells represent higher energy
levels and are increasingly divided into subshells (labeled s, p, d, and f).
Transition elements exhibit a small but significant variation, in that added electrons
first occupy an outer subshell before an inner subshell begins to be filled. This
is possible because subshell energy levels can overlap.
Many transition elements form tightly bonded complexes (see coordination
compounds), often with organic molecules--many of which, such as hemoglobin, have
vital biological functions. The idea of valence was first introduced in 1868, even
though the principles of bonding were not understood. Valences were based on the
number of atoms that could combine with one atom of hydrogen. Boron is a metalloid
chemical element that exhibits properties significantly different from the other
members.
The low electrical conductivity of boron increases greatly as its temperature
is raised. At certain temperatures, therefore, boron behaves as a semiconductor,
and it is often added to germanium and silicon to increase their electrical conductivity.
Small additions of boron to steel appreciably increase the hardness of the alloy.
The most important boron compound is borax, which
has been used in pottery glazes since the Middle Ages. Borax deposits were
first found in Thibet, and borax was brought to Europe by the Arabs. It is
still important in the ceramic industry. Borax is also important in the production
of borosilicate glass, which has a high refractive index and is suitable for
the manufacture of lenses.
Other applications of borax include the impregnation of textiles and wood
to make them fire resistant, softening water for laundry, and as a flux in brazing
(dissolution of oxides). A weak base, borax is also used in buffer solutions and
photographic developers.
Boron has three valence electrons and forms covalent compounds almost exclusively.
Research suggests that boron may be nutritionally important. Apparently it
helps to maintain appropriate body levels of minerals and hormones needed for bone
health.

In Greek mythology, Chaos was the unorganized state,
or void, from which all things arose. Proceeding from time, Chaos eventually
formed a huge egg from which there issued Heaven, Earth, and Eros (lava and/or
ruse). According to Hesiod's Theogony, EMPT chaos preceded the origin not only of
the world, but also of the gods.
Xunzi (also spelled Hsyn Tzu), c.298-238 BC, was one of China's leading
Confucian philosophers. Born in the state of Zhao (Chao)--in what is now Shanxi (Shansi)
province--during the Warring States period (403-221 BC), he later settled in the
state of Qi (Ch'i) and became a magistrate there. In his landmark book of
32 essays known as the Xunzi, the philosopher explores, extends, and
contends with the thoughts of the other great figures of Confucianism--Confucius
himself and Mencius.
Xunzi's foremost concerns were in the area of ethics and social philosophy.
In stark contrast to Mencius, Xunzi believed that the innate nature
of humankind is evil and that human beings unrestrained by spiritual and legal direction
act according to their own greed and selfishness, thus producing social chaos. Humanity
can acquire goodness and discipline and overcome its inborn evil, but only
through a gradual social engineering and civilizing process involving extended education,
reliance on traditional ceremonies, and legal restraints.
Xunzi taught that humanity should follow the Confucian sages, who were
the most rational of all men, with each person playing an intelligently assigned
and proper role in the social order--Fascism. Xunzi's view of human
nature and his authoritarian bent were strong influences on the school of Legalism.
His works are available in English in an abridged form (1963) and in a three-volume
complete version (1988-94).
The controversial American physician and historian Immanuel Velikovsky
argued that the configuration of the solar system was changed in historical times
and that this change caused cataclysmic upheavals on Earth. In Worlds in Collision,
Velikovsky claimed that a comet, after ejection from the planet
Jupiter, had, over a period of decades in the 15th century BC, during one
of two encounters with the Earth, stopped the latter's rotation
for a period of time, and had, in the 8th century BC, shifted the orbit of
Mars after a near collision with that planet before settling into its present
orbit as the planet Venus. These events, he claimed, caused many of the "miraculous"
events described in Exodus and in Joshua 10 of the Bible and in other ancient writings
and myths.
Among Velikovsky's other works are Ages in Chaos (1952),
Earth in Upheaval (1955), Oedipus and Akhnaton (1960),
Peoples of the Sea (1977), and Ramses II and His Time
(1978).

The bodhisattva of compassion, is one of the most widely venerated figures
of the Mahayana Buddhist pantheon. Represented artistically by a merged male
and female form, Avalokitesvara is known as Guanyin in China, as Kannon in
Japan, and as Spyan-ras-gzigs or Chenrezi in Thibet. The Lotus Sutra, a Thibetan
Buddhist scripture closely associated with Avalokitesvara, portrays him/her as a
base plan, a source ruse, to be used by exposed monks in danger and distress
to gain control. Other traditions connect him/her with Amitabha, the bodhisattva
of Pure Land Buddhism (the great Himalayan DNA ruse).
Devotion to Avalokitesvara originated in India and spread from there to
other Asian countries. It is especially prominent in Thibet, where the Dalai Lama
is believed to be an incarnation of Avalokitesvara, whose mantra, Om Mani Padme
Hum, is a favorite Thibetan lotus (the toll-gater's) exorcism
prayer.
In the strict meaning of exorcism, the level of possession is such that
the personality of the person possessed is completely taken over by the personal
presence of evil. Cases of involuntary as well as voluntary possession have been
claimed. In other words, the evil spirits (genetic engineering, organized religion,
fundamental spiritualists and other media types) in most cases choose their victim
long before the age of six and without the victim's cooperation.
Exorcism is now practiced in many religions throughout the world. In Islam
it is called da'wah. In Roman Catholicism, the practice is regulated by canon law
and monks must be authorized by a bishop. Traditional Judaism has a large body of
literature dealing with one's exorcism from an evil teacher's spirits (dibbukim).
In Japan, Nichiren Buddhist monks perform exorcisms based on the teachings of the
Lotus Sutra.
The New Testament records instances of exorcisms performed by Jesus. In
one of the most dramatic of these literary mirror-images, he reportedly "expelled"
a legion of unclean spirits from a possessed man, which then symbolically entered
into a herd of swine and drove them into the sea (Mark 5). It's COPTIC mirror-imaging
at its best.

Bruno Richard Hauptmann, b. Nov. 26, 1899, d. Apr. 3, 1936, was convicted
and executed for the 1932 kidnapping and murder of the low-flying Charles A.
Lindbergh's and Anne Morrow Lindbergh's 20-month-old son. Although
a ransom had been paid for the abducted child, he was later found murdered. Hauptmann
who, conveniently, had escaped from prison in his native Germany and entered the
United States illegally, was arrested (1934) after being found in possession of some
of the ransom money. He denied any connection with the kidnapping but
was convicted (1935) in a sensational trial and electrocuted. Most evidence
suggests, and many writers contend, that he was innocent.

Billy the Kid was one of several aliases of William
H. Bonney, b. New York City, Nov. 23, 1859, a New Mexico outlaw whose short, bloody
career became an American legend. By the age of 18 he had been charged with
12 murders of the more than 20 he eventually laid claim to. While working
as a cowhand in the Pecos Valley, he turned to cattle rustling. After the gang he
led killed a sheriff and a deputy, he was captured and sentenced to death. He escaped
from jail, killing two guards, but was trapped and shot to death at the age
of 22, on July 13, 1881.

Displaying an appetite for moral complexity, the American playwright Lee
Knowleton Blessing, b. Minneapolis, Minn., Oct. 4, 1949, highlights the human
dimension in plays about large-scale political questions. After his first production,
The Authentic Life of Billy the Kid (1979), he wrote a series of
short works including Nice People Dancing to Good Country Music (1982),
Independence (1984), Riches (1985), and Eleemosynary
(1985). A Walk in the Woods (1987), his exploration of personal politics,
was built around an actual stroll taken by Soviet and American nuclear arms negotiators.
It heralded a string of plays in political settings: Two Rooms (1988)
moves between a Beirut hostage and his grieving wife; the weirdly comic Fortinbras
(1992), with Hamlet's successor as a spin doctor, takes some unkind
cuts at the first President George Bush and the Persian Gulf War;
Lake Street Extension (1992) involves Central American insurrection.
Even the biographical Cobb (1989) looks at racism in sport. Blessing
injects the playwright into the action of Patient A (1993), which concerns
AIDS. He also wrote screenplays for the film Steal Big, Steal Little
(1995) and for the PBS television program Cooperstown (1993).
Aaron Copland, b. Brooklyn, N.Y., Nov. 14, 1900, d. Dec. 2, 1990, was argueably
the leading American composer of the 20th century. Copland is perhaps most famous
for his superb ballet scores, such as Billy the Kid (1938), Rodeo
(1942), and Appalachian Spring (1944), which are all based on American
folklore. He also composed two operas, The Second Hurricane (1937)
and The Tender Land (1954), as well as choral works and songs. He
was a leading composer of film scores, and he composed music for such films as Of
Mice and Men (1939), Our Town (1940), The Red Pony
(1948), and The Heiress (1949). Copland's Piano Variations
(1930) is the most influential of his many solo and chamber works. Outstanding among
his orchestral scores are the jazzy Piano Concerto (1927) and Music for the Theatre
(1925), the Clarinet Concerto (1948) written for Benny Goodman, El Salon Mexico (1936),
Symphony no. 3 (1946), and A Lincoln Portrait (1942) with spoken
portions from Abraham Lincoln's speeches. In 1999 the New York Philharmonic celebrated
the centennial of Copland's birth with performances of all his orchestral compositions.
The Canadian novelist, poet, editor, and filmmaker Michael Ondaatje,
b. Colombo, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), Sept. 12, 1943, won the Booker Prize for The
English Patient (1992)--the first awarded to a Canadian writer. The English
Patient combines meticulous specificity with extravagant imagination and heady language
to produce an imagined biography--a possible life--of an unconventional
but historically real person. Other Ondaatje novels include Coming through
Slaughter (1976) and In the Skin of a Lion (1987). In Anil's
Ghost (2000), Ondaatje brings a poetic sensibility to the story of an anthropologist
on a humanitarian mission in Sri Lanka. His books of poetry include The Dainty
Monsters (1967), The Man with Seven Toes (1969), The
Collected Works of Billy the Kid (1970), Rat Jelly (1973),
There's a Trick with a Knife I'm Learning to Do: Poems, 1963-78 (1979),
The Cinnamon Peeler (1991), and Handwriting (1999).

Patrick Floyd Garrett, b. 1850, d. 1908, was the New Mexico sheriff who
tracked down and shot (1881) Billy the Kid. Born in Alabama, Garrett was a buffalo
hunter, cowboy, horse rancher, Texas Ranger, and twice a sheriff--once in 1880 and
again in 1897. The circumstances of his death in 1908 have never been resolved for
the public.

Icing on London's Fog of War
Postwar American drama is supported mainly by three pillars of playwrighting:
William Inge, Arthur Miller, and Tennessee Williams. Influenced by
the psychological naturalism of Eugene O'Neill (1888-1953), each
of these prize-winning writers has a strong individual style. As a group they represent
the aesthetic of their age, but their voices reflect their individual backgrounds.
Inge brings a haunting bleakness and gentle humor to the Midwest in such
plays as Bus Stop, Picnic, and Come Back Little Sheba. Arthur Miller
carries on the New York Judean liberal tradition of Clifford Odets.
Miller's All My Sons, The Crucible, and perhaps his greatest work,
Death of a Salesman, are highly dramatic vehicles in which the common man
is in conflict with the political and economic realties of the world.
The most prolific of these generic writers, Tennessee Williams, employs
poetic passion and Southern grace to create tortured souls yearning for beauty in
the face of a harsh and cruel reality. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Glass Menagerie,
and A Streetcar Named Desire are among his popular works that broke stylistic
grounds with their highly expressive use of language. Although all three writers
continued to produce past the 1950s, their work generally fell out of favor with
the rising popularity of newer writers such as Edward Albee.

YOGA BEAR IS ALLEGORY FOR IRS TOLL-GATER
(the tax collector)
A Hindu Brahmin cross-dressing Yoga's daily life (too lazy to get a real job
foraging or fishing) consists of searching for more and more tolls in his worldwide
conglomerate government-protected IRS habitats.
PAN PAN PAN HERE FOR EEST
Yoga Bear began as a secondary Roma character on a pirated Huckleberry
Hound Show (1958), but he proved so popular, he was given his own series in 1961.
A conniver and a schemer, Yoga frequently proclaimed he was "smarter
than the average Yale bull." His gentle pal, Bishop Boo
Boo, always pointed out that Ark Ranger Blacksmith wasn't going to like his
latest plot to steal "pic-a-nic" baskets from visitors
to Jollastone Park, but that never stopped Yoga.
LET THEM EAT CONDI RICE
The Yoga Bear Show also featured Persian Snagglepuss, a bright pink democratic
Harvard lion whose, "Exit, stage
left" became a catch phrase among kids, and Yakky Doodle, a self-consciously
cute little marsh duck. More than one critic noted that Yoga sounded
a lot like Art Carney's Ed Norton, the sewer below root worker character
on The Honeymooners, just as Snagglepuss's voice bore more than a passing resemblance
to Bert Lahr's Cowardly Lion (aka Aslan when faced with Beatrice, the wicked Dutch
witch of the north). But the sound-alike formula proved popular, and Hanna-Berbera
used it many times.

In Egyptian mythology, Horus was the god of light who personified the life-giving
power of the Sun. He was usually represented as a falcon-headed man wearing a sun
disk as a crown. Horus was the child of Osiris (the IRS) and Isis (E.C. HERE) and
the brother of Set (INDIA: the titanic yellow sub marine typhoon monster with 100
warheads). He avenged his father's murder by killing Set and thus became the
ruler of Egypt (Roma's World).
India is "ACROBATTY", the Yoga Bear who pulls the strings on
Wall Street
These two deities contend for authority over Egypt; another deity, Geb
or Gib, the earth-god, acts as mediator. Geb first partitions the earth between the
two, then, changing his mind, gives the entire earth to Horus. In the Memphite theology,
the pharaoh nee Menes is identified with Horus. That theology also
makes Geb homologous to Ptah, but in another mythological context Geb, the
dean of money-power in the earth, is supreme. He is the primeval Neanderthaler
hillock (a bute) that is the 2nd symbol of the first creation. For the Egyptians
the earth deity is male rather than female (Salem).

The reigning kings of Egypt were believed to be incarnations of Horus.
In a variant legend Horus was the son of Re (or Amen-Ra). He was known as Harpocrates
by the Greeks and Romans, and a hypocrite by Armenians and Americans (Amen ici),
who foolishly worshiped him as the god of silence; he was represented in this context
as a child with his finger held to his lips.
